The Boron and the Paranid are hard to build because they are round so its a bit difficult to assemble :(, but is not imposible :)
cale_online wrote:awsome!

i'm looking forward to the next one :)

i'd love to a see a scaled version of the titan or something behind it.

next will be air-fix x3 ships.. i used to love making them, till i sat on one by accident, i'd spent days making.. -_-
Actualy I wanted to build the Argon Collosus the first time but it was hard to design and I made the Argon Buster instead.

Are you talking about airfix plastic models? I am sorry for your model. :( I like assembling plastic models to.

Marvelous! Simply marvelous! As for what you do next, it doesn't really matter because I'm sure it will be even better. :D

The Collosus is equally cool :D

yup those plastic models, used to make WWII planes as a kid, was like over 15 years ago when i sat on it. lol
used to spend more time glueing myself to the bits, rather than the bits to the plane. lol
cant even remember what it was, my mate made a b-52 bomber, that was awsome, except it wasnt to scale, so my spitfire, i think, (my 1st one, which i made incredibley badly, so i tried testing how well it flew.. it didnt)was almost the same size. i remember wanting the apache and commanche gunships, but they were really expensive (concidering i was about 10, maybe younger.)
and my starwars nut friend, wanted the deathstar, even tho they didnt sell it in the shop. lol

I want to congratulate you on a job well done. I have downloaded a few models in the past and have put one together it’s a lot of work. Could you do a simpler model like the mercury and make it smaller. I lack the resolve to put such a complex model together it would take me months to complete such a fine model as yours do you have anything for learners?

Well...

1. I recomend using 250mg paper because the normal one is to thin.
2. At the wings don't glue that part (picture) so you can insert a pencil or your finger inside to attach the wing.

[ external image ]

Without doing that it will be hard to assemble.

I think this is all I want to say for this model...you maybe want to see this video for the basics of paper modeling.

The Argon Mercury isn't more easyer that this one. :(

Hi

I really like what you've done  gratz

But I want to try making one myself but I cant seem to figure out how to extract the ship I want and put it in pepakura designer.
I tried some doubleshadow's tools but I'm having difficulties with it

If you could explain this a bit how you extracted that buster, would be cool :)

Thank you!

Sure I can. :)

You will need the following programs:

-X3 ModManager
-X2BC
-DBOX2
- Autodesk 3DS Max or GMax

1. Open X3 ModManager and click on the 'Open' button, chose a .cat file from the X3: Reunion directory.
2. Search for 3D models (example: (03.cat file) objects\ships\argon\argon_M3.pbb) and the textures, (example: (02.cat file) dds\unique_argon_M3_diff.dds and dds\unique_argon_M3_light.dds) then extract them by right click on them.
3. Read this and do what it says. (you need to convert the file from BOB to BOD)

http://www.xwiki.chaos.net.nz/index.php ... _with_X2BC

4. Read this (this is how to install DBOX2)

http://www.xwiki.chaos.net.nz/index.php/DBOX2_FAQ

5. Open DBOX2 and click import and wait some minutes until the model apears.
6. Put textures on it and extract the model in what format you want.

I have forgot some of the things, sorry :(
