Sandapocolypse replied to my query regarding getting the 10.Cat & 10.Dat files into the mod folder. I have managed to complete this but i am still getting a message when i start a new game.

The message, which appears just before Ban Dana gives his opening speach about giving the recruits their first patrol lesson, reads as follows.

Message from The Xtended Mod Team...

"You have tried to use The Xtended Mod, but the mod files have not been detected. Make sure that you have placed the Xtended Mod .Cat / .Dat files in the X3/Mods folder and selected Xtended Mod in the Mod Menu. Please quit and reload your game after having started X3 with the Mod selected".

As stated, i believe that i have managed to correctly get the Dat / Cat folders into the Egosoft Mods file within the programme files but what do they mean by "select the Xtended Mod in the mod menu"???
What mod menu???. Do they mean the one on the X3 Start screen before you click on start game. If so then in this Mod folder only seems to contain the shipinstaller at the moment and will not allow me to add anything more?. I could understand if this had a drop down and select menu....
So as above, WHAT MOD MENU :evil:

Other than that, in the Plugin Manager all i have is the advanced jumpdrive. The community extended mod pack 2.0, and the xtended mod scripts 0.71

Someone help me with this thing before i lower the entire computer onto the nearest bonfire.

The .dat and .cat files should NOT be placed in the [mods] folder. In fact nothing should be in that folder (except for a dummy.txt), and there's absolutely no mod menu where you have to activate it.

Just be sure the .cat and .dat files are in the main game directory.
Find what you need in the X3-universe (with all XTM data, and X3 Music guide)

It's a waste of time explaining something over and over again. If someone does not want to understand something and if someone does not want to read (or can't read) simple instruction and advices of gamers, then it is impossible for him to get through installation...


Just READ what's in the primary mod installation page and just FOLLOW instructions.

I just rescued the scarab pilot and headed to kill the galleon with the otas backup, but im getting my backside handed to me repeatedly by the kyons, any pis? im flying an elite at the moment

I started the game over as the Terran Flight Leader. How can I start out seeing the whole universe again. I don't want to search for the jump gates again. Please help.

Assuming XTM:
Restart using the original script pack (0.71b), save a game, then upgrade
to 0.72 scripts patch ... that's what I did cos I felt the same.
(Or use the reveal-all cheat script)

Put the cat/dat files and the soundtrack folder from the core mod files .rar in your 'x3 reunion' folder. Default location: c:\program files\deepsilver\x3 reunion\ (The same folder X3.exe is located).

install 7.2 patch files and scripts using Cycrow's installer.

Start a new game. :wink:

Meet the Galleon head on and fly into it. You should make it with only a small loss of shield strength. Once inside, quickly turn and match speed.
Then the Galleon can't attack you while you blast it's shields. Works a treat, I took it down using an Eclipse.
You just have to take care you don't hit the walls. Especially tough when missles hit you.

I docked at the Otas headquaters after I recovered a ship for them (in cludbase SW) who gave me to co-ordinates, its a hell of a trek out of the centre of the system though, even on SETA your looking at a 10 minute trip

By the way I did the Bala Gi mission, and then taught the Pirate Galleon in Mines of Kaderak, a real lesson in how to be polite and play nicely. Took me all day just to thin out the fighter craft from Velvet Tears and the mines.

To get the Yacht in Bala Gi I used a very useful script from Mr Cycrow. Saved an awful lot of towing through pirate space.
It was a woman who drove me to drink... you know I never went back and thanked her.

Well, a part of his confusion I understand since there are contradicting instructions about XTM. I've read about this in XTM forums. That's why I know now that only the forum instructions as linked to in the first post of this thread are valid.

I hope Jim saved his PC though. :wink:

Player head quarters in the XTM mod ?!??

Can you get the player head quarters in the XTM mod without starting from scratch e.g. get it by starting from a custom game start like "Economic Enthusiast" please help...

also you can buy the Hyperion & all the M3+ ships.
