Sorry for the late reply, I shouldn't have any other than Transcend II. I did a clean install and patch of X3TC for it...I will try again tomorrow when I have time to fiddle around with things.

Perhaps have a look at that post, & see if the 2.0.0.9 works for you:

Ya that worked. ;)
I added that MFC file to the directory folder and now it works.

What's the possibility of generating height, width, and length values for the objects? I realize the values might be relative, but knowing how one ship compares to another 'numerically' might be useful.

That's certainly easy, those values are calculated during reading-in of objects.
Typically for a ship x=width, y=height, z = length in ES coord system.

Also simple to 'calibrate' against say a 6ft high spacesuit object.
Just need to find a space in the stats window to stuff the info in I guess.

Hi,

I've just tried the 2.0.0.9.exe and I think there is a (very) small problem with the x-tended mod v0.7.5 again: it does not show all ships. Till now I found out that the Argon Leviathan (M1/M0) is not displayed.

In the 2.0.0.5 version this ship was displayed.

But in both the 2.0.0.5 and the 2.0.0.9 version the Argon Zentaur MKIII (M6) can't be shown.

Greetings, A. Corvis

You are right, seems to have dissapeared between 2.0.0.5 & 2.0.0.6,
I'll have a look & see what caused that.

Hey there Exo. I'm getting the wonderful hang up when v2.0.0.9 tries to read Ashley's Fabs v2.5. It goes through the plugin manager files no sweat but this one seems to give it pause. This is the standard version of Ashley's, not the XTM one if that makes a difference.

Thought that had all been sorted out - must have only been sorted for the XTM version.

Try this one (viewer executable only) :
http://www.exogenesis.co.uk/XModels3DViewer_2.0.1.1.rar

In any case you only get to view the factory model / audio that are used by the Ashley Fabs,
the production stats don't show (as they do for all Vanilla X3:R factories) due to the way Ashley is installed
(in-game) i.e. by script rather than xml data-file.

Thanks a million Exo. I'm actually not concerned about seeing the production stats so it's no biggie. I use the program exclusively for ship stats anyway. Cheers.

I didn't get that. Is there any possibility to show the size of the ships or is he speaking about something else? This would be great if it's possible, but I don't know how to show these stats.

P.S.: since any version higher than 2.0.0.5 there are some problems with showing the weapon beams with X2. Beams show some offset to different sides. For example: Nova left, Falcon top, ...

P.P.S.: I hope you don't mind my "complaints" about some small bugs, I just try to help you make your viewer perfect. In fact, I love your program. I use it at least as often as I play the X-games :D

Eek, you're right about X2,
guess that's what comes of not testing absolutely everything for each code change.

Thanks for pointing out the exact version :)

Absolute size-stats is easy, they're not in the viewer atm, may well be soon.

Any & all complaints are welcome, we're all beta-testers in reality,
but that doesn't mean there's any guarantee of fixes for any particular thing tho :)

Did anyone find a workaround for the populate universe hanging up reading the transcend II mod files? Same happens here, windows 7 and latest updated transcend II.

   I was trying to open the 3D M&S viewer on my start menu. It still directs to the other exe and not 2.0.0.9. It's working fine I had forgotten that part.

Mine crashes when I point it to my X3-XTM game directory and it starts loading ships. Gets about 1/4 way through. I don't know how to post the dump file for you on this forum. My setup is a linux X3-XTM game with additional ships added via Cycrow's Plugin Manager. Models3DViewer app runs fine under wine, which is not an emulator, but an open source windows API library. To make sure, I copied my game directory to my windows partition and ran the program under windows with the same results. Perhaps the ship data is different in the linux version.

Would think the data is the same, guessing the X3 Linux version is all coding tweaks ?

Can you say which version of the viewer you are using?,
the crash dump would be most useful if it's the most recent version
(i.e 2.0.1.1 linked in the post at the top of this page).

If you've got the crash dump available,
perhaps upload it on a free server e.g. like http://www.4shared.com/
