Ace slowly raised his head. He wasn’t on his argon m5. He was in a room, examination room by the looks of things. Argonese by the looks of it. He sat up from the table and looked at his hands. They were stiff and twitchy, as was the rest of his body. He tried to spin round and stand up but he fell down. His legs weren’t responding properly. He dragged his way across the room and into an alcove between machines. He tightened up and tried to remember what happened. He was jumping in system with his brother on his right and captain Anderson on his left. They were a mission to meet with the rest of the Ventura’s crew. It had been 4 weeks since they jumped in to this place looking for Kyle Brennan. The fleet command at earth finally decided to gather up the courage to launch another rescue attempt. The Ventura was moored in an asteroid field not to far away.
“Watch your selves, were near a terraformer system. They know we’re are here and they already hounded down Jacob.” Anderson shouted out through comms
The squadron of m5s gathered in a formation and began to go to the asteroid field, past a gate. They were nearing the gate when it buzzed with activity. An argon alarm went off over the comm. Channels.
“Xenon jumping in! Prepare for combat.”
A destroyer came out and blocked them off from the Ventura. PPC guns began to shred the squadron apart Anderson was the first hit as his engine exploded and flooded his capsule with fuel which then ignited. The ship span out in a ball off fire and disappeared into the cosmos. Over the next 5 minuets the earthmen tried to manoeuvre past the ship but more and more died. Finally 2 ships jetted past it, although one left a trail of smoke from its failing shield core. There was a squadron on Ace’s and his brother’s, Zack, back. The destroyer was coming after them also, gaining quickly. It neared his brother’s ship and let the tractor beam do the rest. The screaming was still fresh in Ace’s mind. It slowed down and backed off to the gate, leaving the squadrons to hound Ace down. He felt the m5 shudder as plasma exploded, rocking the ship and sending it veering into things it shouldn’t. He managed to keep most the hits off it and avoided hitting a ‘roid but a sight he never would have imagined greeted him. Xenon ships latched onto the Ventura and began to take it over and pilot it back towards the gate. He was mesmerized by this horror as and failed to notice the missile warning system. A missile struck his engine, destroying it and forcing the fire to back up the up the fuel pipes and into the storage. Ace can vaguely remember floating in his half wrecked cabin with completely charred skin as an argon colossus floated above him. He stared vainly at it to figure out the name on the side. One eye wasn’t open. It couldn’t open. He stared hard and said it aloud through rasping breaths
“Argon one ….”

There was a *schlick* noise as something opened. A door? Two figures came in. One was in lab apparel and the other was dressed like one of the Argon military. The scientist looking person was quiet young but the military man was older, as shown by the grey hair on his beard and head.
“Where’s he gone?”
“He was…. He was here a mizura ago!?”
“You idiot! We poured over a million credits into him! We can’t let him slip away like this! Dammit. Looks like we will have to halt the Xenon advance the old fashioned way. Find him; he may still be on the compound.”
The two walked out and Ace flumped out of his hiding place. He pulled himself up. It was not an easy task. The feeling was returning to his legs slowly. He wiggled them then let go of a monitor he clung to for support and stepped out. He felt a strange spring to each step but ignored it and dismissed it as mere adrenaline. He walked to the door and it gave a loving *schlick* back to him. He walked out. He could hear the military man right round the corner.
“Don’t hurt him, he could be our only chance to stop the Xenon, and maybe even get back to earth.”
“YESSIR”
“Danna, are you sure of this?”
“It’s Kyle’s only chance. We’ve got to take it.”
Ace Sprinted across the corridor and ducked into a room as this ‘Danna’ man turned around and walked down the corridor. He felt cold. Vulnerable. He looked down.
“Oh sh-“
He stopped himself from cussing as he heard foot steps. He ran round the room for a second, his feet giving out a slapping noise upon the cold, metal floor. Finally he found a locker. He opened it. Cloths. He put them on quickly and then ran behind it as a man entered. He heard 2 clunk noises then the man exited. He went back out and into the corridor. He was now in scientist apparel, much like the young man in the room with ‘Danna’. He walked around, strangely calm before coming out onto what appeared to be a port. (He followed signs that seemed to correspond with it.). He ran from cargo piece to cargo piece, avoiding guards charging around it in groups of 6. He saw a TP class land. One of those ugly things that reminded him of slugs from earth. He ran below it and waited for the crew to depart. He quickly moved around and up the loading ramp and into the cabin. He strolled into the cockpit and swung round into the pilot’s chair. He sat down and looked to see if there was an ignition card in the area. The pilot must have taken it. He looked out the corner of the window to see a scientist point to the ship and a group of soldiers charge towards it and surround it. They shouted something but he was too stressed to hear it. He banged on the control board and foamed at the mouth in fury. He rested his head on the control stick, restless when he felt something, a pain in his hand as something tore its way through his skin. It was dark and he could not see it curl into the card recess and deliver several sparks before the ship hummed into ecstatic life. He immediately closed the ramp as a group of soldiers tried to get up them and reared round to them. They fired small arms at him, the laser bolts fizzing poorly on his teardrop of blue light. He ignited the engines and went right over them and across the top of them and this ‘compound’. It was in what looked like a world until he hit the side in an all mighty bang. His ship kicked back. It was some kind of bio dome. He swung round and closed on what looked like and entrance, especially as several m5s did just rush from it. He geared his way through the middle of the formation, forcing them to scatter and gave him a clear run into the station’s tunnels. He zipped out of the entrance tube and looked back.
“An Argnu farm?”
He neared a gate and slumped in his seat. He then preformed a huge tactical error and fell asleep.
“Where’s he gone?”
