Getting ready for *cough* the Mission, and with less than 16 hours till the minimum time needed, I noticed my standings with the Paranid were bad, to say the least. Enemy of Priest, 20%.
Then, oddly enough, I decided to tackle the Priest's Pity Pirate Base. As I arrived there the sector was sparse with them, so I decided to heat up the atmosphere. (Also known ass Error number one
)Boom went the LT, red went the Pirate base. One by one out went the Oris, unfortunately only one of which I managed to capture. Then the Bayas came, followed by Mandies and the TSes. Somewhere in the middle of the fight I ran away and saved. As I flew out... Every, and I mean EVERY pirate was heading towards the N gate, and there was a hord of 'em, believe you me
I immediately jump-drove through said gate and started taking out the M4s and M5s, leaving Oris for dessert and TSes to hang out and dry without fighter escort. One Ori went blue, the rest left Dragonflies, and the Transports left out some nice Hornets for my armory. Several minutes later, the Pirate Base was on its last ships, all TSes barring one lone Orinoco (that meant an extra 500k wad o'cash), plus a strangely friendly Prometheus, who patiently whammed at the Pirate Base while I scooped the missiles and the ships.Battle Result:
My Paranid rank is now Friend 30%, and my Combat rank is Commodore 25%. I have 7 Dragonflies and 6 Hornets in my cargobay, plus a hefty 1.5 million Creds converted into Oris
Quite a lucky bombing run, I'd say
