Rankings against posts

Hi all,

You know those ranking things that appear next to your name on the left when you post?

Do you want them?

Y'know, 10 posts = Harmless, 5,000 posts = XTreme! or whatever we can come up with (probably in game trading ranks actually).

Anyway, upto you people. 5 day poll.

As long as you or one of the other Moderators are prepared to BAN any people YOU think are spamming to raise their STATUS level, then I have no objection, otherwise definately NOT in favour

hmmn, would cause big spamming arguments i reckon, just to see your rank tick over to the next level, id be happier if we brought over the old post counts

in theory im for it, in practice there could be trouble at mill.

I think it wud cause more problems than its worth coz like over ppl av sed it wud cause spamming wars! Would only work if everybody agrees not 2 spam but then wot happens 2 ppl that do!?

Spammers will be easily identified, i.e. joined 1 day ago and 50 posts. I say go with rankings.

If this could somehow be tied to helpfull or X related topics only it would be great, but as others have sugested, it will probably end up promoting spammers and spamming and little else.

I voted for not bothered either way, I think it's possible if this feature is enabled the volume of spam may well shut it down again in the not to distant future.

I'm for it, as long as the mods can freeze somone's post count who is spamming, or something like that.


Although those customisable ones would be cool! Perhaps when you reach 1000 or something, you can have your own! lol

Sounds good in theory, perhaps the post count could be only on on topic threads, maybe that would help reduce the spam?

Okay a bit of harmless fun providing people aren't spamming the forum just to get the ranking up.
