hi folks. I have a riva tnt card, jut installed xp and installed latest drivers. Everything seems to be fine whe playing the game, and then, suddenly, it is as if the craft is in a spin and it is impossible to play on because everything is violently shaking on screen. If I press z to slow down, everything becomes ok again - until the next time. Anyone got any ideas please? it was fine in Windows ME....I am going to bed now but will look in tomorrow to see what you might have to say. Oh, I dont use a joystick, just the keyboard.
Cheers m'dears
Gracie:)

Nah, its not the turbo boost rattle thing that gracie is on about, i had the same problem with ME every now and again, in the end i learned to live with it as it only happpenned once every 3 hours of game play or so.. so no i cant help, i cant play x on my lappy cos of a similar problem happenning all the time, but i think this is something to do with the touch pad, im thinking of getting a usb mouse to sort the prob.
Gracie, folk have mentioned this prob in the past, and im sure ive seen remedies for it, try searching for 'Control Problems' or similar, or hang in for the right reply.. hth

ah, thanks folks. I have played the game now for a couple of years ( so I am slow already!), admittedly on less powerful machines than this P4, and never had the problem before. I wondered if it was the new graphics card, or the xp drivers ( which I had only just installed). As you say, I will keep looking out. I also think it might have been one of the problems mentioned on the readme file by EgoSoft when you first install the game, so I will look there too. If I find an answer I will post it here, meanwhile I will keep looking as you say. thanks for all your comments

Just cos X runs fine for you with XP doesnt mean thats not the problem for someone else, or any other OS.. a computer is made up of more that Windoze..Jedi wrote:It's not XP as it runs perfectly for me. I would suggest getting rid of the Riva TNT.

it is helpful to know that the xp drivers are not to blame - that is one variable I can cross off perhaps. I have only had the Riva TNT for a few days, but it seemed fine running the game while I had Windows ME as my OS. I dont want to get rid of it if I dont have to so I shall hope for a less drastic solution. Thanks guys
