Looks like I'm a wee bit too old to consider entering...

A couple of the writers here qualify I think. They should definitely enter.

Don't go for anything experimental. Beginning, Middle, End and a flawed hero facing a challenge that changes him or her.

Beginning - chase your hero up a tree
Middle - People throw rocks at him
End - He comes down the tree and triumphs.

Just looked at the word limit - 1000 words. Cripes, that's not much.

nice way of showing an example Steve. Hmm I got some ideas how to start it off, but that can make it a bit too long as it 1000 words max...
I'll have to properly plan it out later on

With a thousand words you just need one good simple idea to run with. Don't complicate it. It's a real challenge - I don't think I could do anything in that length.

Only a thousand? I could never write a 'short' story THAT short.

well. I allready got a starter for it and the plot. I made it relitivle easy so that it may just fit 1000 words. the intro which I only done at the moment is 269 words (glup)
