Looks good, now where's that wholly original idea that will knock Harry Potter for six...
but now what do I see..
but now what do I see..
I guess this is standard practice for publishers? What else should you know?
We're looking to buy at least the following:
All book rights.
An option for game and other entertainment rights.

looking at this it would be wise to make careful note of the agreement specificaly
which may well apply to anything derived from the x-universeSUBMITTEE declares and warrants that except to the extent, if any, the Idea
incorporates Wizards’ existing intellectual property, the Idea is original and contains
unique, novel and/or public domain material. SUBMITTEE possesses all right, title, and
interest necessary to enable Wizards to use the Idea without any license or permission
from any third party.

I'm not in a position to have a completed first draft of my novel ready for the deadline I'm afraid, and it's probably not suitable for them. Adult themes, philosophical bent etc.
Financially it's not a good deal (they keep all rights and are probably looking for something to turn into an RPG) but it's a foot in the door. I wish I could submit my X novels but the rights aren't mine to sign away and the original Helge novel is still in with a publication chance last I heard.
But wouldn't the X-Universe make a great RPG?

Nothing. No feedback for two reasons - I'm not following much on this board at the moment and despite the good quality of the writing I wasn't really enjoying the setting. And that's no reflection on the story and the writing - I'm just not a fan of dystopian sci-fi. The genre depresses me a little - having grown up with the optimism of Trek and classic sci-fi.Zemethius wrote:Yeah, would be a shame if one of the most talented writers on this forum DIDN'T submit anything. Steve, you better had...
I miss your constructive feedback btw, what have I done to offend?
On the other hand, I realise as I write this, I don't need to like the genre to give feedback on technical aspects so look out!

Well yeah X is rpg I reckon, you can either be a pieceful trader and business person and or a kuller of pirates or a pirate yourself. the game id designed so that you can choose your own path. That's why I like it.
some who deserve life receive death. Others who deserve death receive life. Can you give it to them? Don't be eager to deal out death in judgement, for not even the wise can see all ends.
