2912 - Following loss of Elena Kho and Kyle Brennan the Jumpdrive programme is terminated.

2915 - A widespread plague infects the population of the planet. Within three weeks 10 million people have died and 350 million cases are reported. It is of a type never incountered before. Millions flee earth trying to gain santuary on other planets. The controlling governments deny their requests and use force to keep them from landing. Earth is officially quaranteened no traffic is allowed too or from the planet. Martial law is enforced.

2916 - The death toll on earth is astronomical. Over 3.5 billion dead. Cases begin to surface on Mars, Titan and Europa. Mars governement is quick to react and the plaque is stemmed, Titan and Europa are less fortunate. Within one month 2 million on Europa and 6 million on Titan are infected.

2917 - Earths population now numbers 2 billion. In 2 years 8 billion people have died. Scientists begin to have success with a cure. It is found that a particular type of radiation can erradicate the plague cells. Tests prove positive.

2918 - Whilst development on the cure has been proceeding a further 569 million have died. On October 1st a retrofitted destroyer rigged with a widespread pulse emitter lauches and begins to irradiate the planet. On November 22nd all traces of the plague are gone. Europa lost 98% of its population and Titan lost 67%. Outbreaks were contained on Mars but it still lost 25% of its population. All other local colonies were unaffected.

2925 - The plague has wiped out many of the brightest and most gifted minds in the system. Humanity returns on mass to Earth. All colonies are abandoned except the Pluto defence stations. Humanity is in dispair. They blaim technology. Preparations begin for a technological devolution.

2936 - The largest and most powerful computer ever created is built. This is stationed in a huge orbiting station. It is linked to AI ships and defence platforms throughout the system. The computer, called New God, is set up to protect humanity while it regresses.

2945 - The last automated device on the planet is switched of and destroyed. Earth has now returned to the middle ages. Horses are the only transport. New God controls their food and can govern the climate. It protects them from space and protects them from each other. There are no wars, there is no crime and there are no governments. There is only New God and it is devoted to protecting and serving mankind in its hour of need.

2989 - An unknown object jumps into earth space three hundred thousand kilometers from New God. It senses the ship before it materialises and immediately sends a destroyer to intercept. Scans are made and a challenge is issued in all known languages. No responce is given. The object jumps out exactly 356 seconds after arrival. New God allocates a full tenth of its active processors into developing jump technology. It was never given the information but now that it has seen jumping in action it decides the technology will be of use in order to effectively defend earth. The unknown object was triangular in section and contained one alien lifesign.

They hate technology, have lost all thier best and brightest, yet build the greatest computer know to man and set it to defend them?

I think the computer needs to preceed the plague. How it comes to defend middle ages Earth despite the fact that everyone hates it is up to you.

from what i know of earth it doesnt realy fit with much of history or technology

diseases of any kind on earth had long since been iradicated and the technology was rediscoverd quite a while before kyle brennan left earth.

in fact earth nanotechnolgy woulds most likely be able to irradicate and repair effects of any new disease in a matter of days after its discovery.

it also doent fit in other ways which im not going to go into

not a bad hisory itself but not one that, to my knoledge, fits with earths history, technolgy or events in the x-universe
