X2 Ship Cockpits + Pics... + Even More Pic's
A few Weeks ago Rusti talked about many of the ship cockpit componants looking the same... Well I've been thinking about that little statement for a while...
So here is a whole load of cockpit pics... personally I think the cockpits look different enough:

They're fine as they are

H there
Cannot download the files now at the moment (because my Dad wants the PC back in 5 mins and 3MB cannot be downloaded in 5 mins on a normal modem,
). I will make a note of this though and will download it the next time I get a chance which will probably be Saturday daytime. From what I've heard though......i cant wait for saturday!
Best Regards
Danfin

Even more different!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!
These are Old shots that I have collected and archived from the forum(s)... And there's also a few screen captures from the old fan video. Although the Majority of people on the English X forum have never seen the X2 Fan video captures they are old news...
(When I tirelessly went through the Divx video frame by frame capturing pictures and converting them to a workable format... often boosting colour and resolution in the process. I was upset by the disinterest many people showed to them... "Oh Not More Pics". Anyone on the THQ German Forum already know about these captures as I think I posted about 40 of them on mass to the forum at one point...)
But No these Pictures are not new and cannot reflect the true extent of Egosoft's Genius... + Most are CJ's pics anyway...
As For that Picture I named M5 decloak... I couldn't decided what it actually was... because it's small it's likely to be an M5 and it looks partially transparent... so it could be cloaked... or a scanner ghost...
This Was all to show people that even in the early stages the Cockpits did not look all the same... as rusti implyed....

There is only one pic I posted in that Rustipack.zip, it is the Octopussy pic. Are the others from the "X2 Fan video"? I have never seen this video, do you have a link for it so I can d/load it? As some of the things you show I myself have not seen, I am very curioussilentWitness wrote:Even more different!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Ok Unofficial X² Fan Video Here's what I could dig up:
Taken From Universe News, Issue 7 August 2002:
"The Universe is the only entity that suffers no end...
It's done! New visual impressions from X² can be seen in this video!
This video is very special, as it not only shows astonishing pictures of X² but also that Egosoft really cares about their fans and shows them their respect. This video is NOT an official X² video but a fan production! Still the fans who made it are allowed to publish the video!
The soundtrack is from from Russian fan-musician sVGA (see last edition) and Omniscient is responsible for video composition – many thanks to him. Doing the final compression, Omniscient is also the guy who makes the high quality video as small as possible."
http://www.sulowski.de/x2fanvideo/x2fanvideo.php
unfortunately the link is dead and because the vid's 15,6 MB in size and I'm already taking liberties with my webspace... I cannot upload it... But I'm sure you've seen it... Burnit and co. really went to town advertising it!
Right... the pics... many of the picture are captures, their's a few others are from the Binder pics from the XtensionX.de website... I think at the hight of my frustration I E-mailed you my enitire link tree at one point... guess you didn't recieve it...

The server sulowski.de has been unreachable for a few days already, don't know what's happening there.
However the Video can be found here: http://www.com-park.de/downloads/x2fanv ... nvideo.zip
But don't forget, anything you see in that video is at least 3 months old - the game already looks completely different (better

Actually, Rega could be right. Astronaughts are classed as M5s so I dont see why Spaceflies shouldn't be classed as M5s too.
I've downloaded them and has a look at them...they're grrrrreat (as the frosties advert would say)
. Sorry, bad joke. But seriously though, I really do like the pictures and the amount of detail on some of the ships is incredible. I just wonder if my Pentium 3, 500mhz will be able to take it
.
