Fireblade, i there such thing as holographic projections for the computer AI's in the X universe?
Just wondering as I was wriitng and thinking about the way that the ships have overlays projected onto/onto their eye-pieces for the ecliptic projector and such..was just wondering if it had advanced to the point where there was such a thing as a holographic projection of ship AI...like an Avitar of the ship.
IF not...cool...if so..cool to. Was just wondering is all.
Would make for some really interesting reading if it was.
Cheers

technologicaly a holographic projection in certainly possible (we could almost do them now in a limited form)
one thing to not about AIs is that they arn`t sentient though they can do a good imitation of it. you wont find any AIs even ones based on earth technology that can be considered "alive" or "sentient" theyu may imitate it quite well but they are realy only working to a set of preprogramed behaviours
though i dont think AI projections are standard, and there are no "hard light" holograms, solid projections that you can touch,
in general an AI would have little use for a humanoid form apart from makeing humanoids more comfortable

Thats the same thing I was thinking. No...I hadn't thought of the solid form...but glad to mentioned it just the same.fireblade wrote:technologicaly a holographic projection in certainly possible we could almost do them now in a limited form)

Being comfortable around the AI was exactly what I had in mind..
Thank you very much. Almost done with Chapter 2...just working things together
