Goner mission again!!!

OK everyone remember the one where you get the mission from the Goner temple, to take pics of m3 m4 m5 of some race . Then you go to your log and its a blank line . then when you go and target the said ships, nothing happens ? I remember that one time i completed it by going to another race, ie. the mission said target argon, but mission worked with Split instead any way ive target ALL m3 m4 m5 ships of all races, pirate and zenon too. My main question is will, at any point, this mission be lost will i EVER get another mission is this save game doomed is there a patch please im dying over here , help me!!

Hmmm.

Normally when you get this mission you have to take the pictures of an M3,M4 & M5 of a particular race. Not all of them.

This mission can come up at anytime from anyone, I've seem to remember the Boron have asked me to take pictures of Paranid Ships, & Argon Ships. The Paranid have asked me to take pictures of Boron Ships & Split Ships.. etc.

So if you've got the Split ships then head back to the Goner Station and that'll be the end of the mission (hopefully)...

Yes in the end after a while u can lose the mission! Ive lost the mission b4 coz i left XT 4 about 3 days once and wen i came bac 2 it i cudnt remember that i ad started that mission so i failed it. But i got it agen and ive had it for nearly all the races. (obviously not xenon or pirate lol)

Hi Lonowski,

Each mission has a set timeout period. This period being 6 game hours from acceptance of the mission. Once that time has passed the mission will automatically 'fail'.

Solution: Sit stationary for up to 6 game hours using the SETA. That way the time should flow faster...but be careful of factory resources...you may run out of credits and production will stop.

Check the logbook for the 'time' that you accepted the mission. You can see the current time on the player info menu.

I Have just got this mission from the gonar temple but I saved before I Landed and after I accpted the mission so I will try to complete it some time this week and let you know. I thought it was peculiar as well that the mission line was blank. I have just completed the same mission for the paranid I have noticed that are are still a few bugs here & there even in XT Versio 2.1 such as the sound dissapearing (can be solved by pressing F10 or 12 and resetting the sound volume) I am suprised this 'little' things wernt fixed by the numerous patches though I suppose you cant catch them all

first time i accepted it I was still green and wasnt sure what to do.
Ididnt complete it and many hours and missions later it came up again,
i accepted it and went off and completed it think i got 30,000 4 it.
Have done more hours and more missions, and now it is popping up again,
3 times i think, have said no each time cant be bothered with it now.

I believe its only when you get this from the Goners that you cant complete it. All other races should work ok

Once before i got this mossion , and i swear on my life the following worked. The mission asked for Argon pictures, when i targeted and flew within 100m of said argon ships- nothing happened. However, i did it with other races (just to see what happened) and i fulfilled the mission by targeting a different race (i think it was split) But it didn't work for the original split sectors, only the new ones north of Black hole sun Ive target all m3 m4 m5 ships of most all of the "guilds" if you will, throughout the galaxy, except for the last boron sectors to the east, and the argon outpost under the pirate sectors. I wonder if this has anything to do with the glitch, the fact that it has to be from a certain part of space? Any comments? Does anyone know how to "hack" my save and check the parameters for the missions' quota, ie. how to complete it, which race a nd where to target it>?

Tried the mission several times last night it does not work with the Gonar
I also tried the split mission where you have to shoot a series sof of 'old ships from the Split Raptor, unfortunatly one of the missiles I fired at a small fast ship hit the Raptor and it started attacking me so I Had no choice but to annhilate it. The Split are a tad upset with me now.
