I had a good idea for something new, which could be added in to a patch as i think it is to late for the main release, please vote if you like this (i want to try out the poll thing!) as most people know after you blow up a ship it well blows up but only after floating a little, so i thought i good idea would be that as soon as it starts spining you can have a energy field or similar around the target ship that will stop it exploding, BUT this would rapidly reduce your shields which is why this is a good idae, as you would not be able to do this in combat as it does drain your shields, and whilst it is in well "hold" you can use your "no name yet!" but it can be selected as a weapon and you use it on the ship, and fire, it is a special sort of weapon that will repair the ship and if you hold it on for long enough it will convert the ship to your side!
This si extremly hard to explain and i hope you like it! maybe not have the thing where you repair and convert a enmy ship as a weapon then, but it could be something good, and as i said this would be good as it will be balanced, it will not be like making mega cash as you can only do it when you are against a single ship after the piolet has bailed or it has just blown up because otherwise yourship will get blown up by others! as it will drain your shields
These upgrades as it wil lbe 2 diffrent things, the repair thingy and the shield extender, as it could be used for other things,
another idea i had was a more advanced transporter device, or another object, a bomb! it would cost loads, and then you could say transport a bomb to your opponents ship cargo bay, and harm it from the inside, this idea can also be extended, say you can have a choice, you can have anti infantry bombs, emp bombs, so on the big ships, you can send a anti personal bomb to the cockpit then exit your ship, and simply go into there ship and chuck them out! or emp bomb into a big m1 or something's ship bay, to stop them launching ships against you for a little period of time, or just transfering a normal bomb anywhere, or to a shield bay to do serious damage!

That wud b well cool but about the bomb thing it wud av 2 b done very carefully coz otherwise it mite end up that as soon as u get this bomb ur unstoppable. Like the idea bout the shield extender thingy and repairer though gd ideas. But then u cud add things that prevent bombs bein beamed onboard and things like that lol . Another thing that ive bein thinkin about is u cud mab get like marines or somin in ur cargo then attack say a TL then beam u and marines onboard and av onboard fighting then u cud take ova the TL!!!

Nice idea, but I think that the changes we will see in X2 will already make combat complicated enough i.e. only certain weapons will damage some ships etc. I think that it's going to be a more rounded game than previously and for a more lasting game, combat may not take centre stage
