I understand that pirate sectors are best for capturing Nova's. There is the od BBS mission in which the target is protected by Super Novas. I Capped 3 out of 4 but none retained any superness (New word).
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's b****r all down here on Earth.

I decided to take out the competition in Akeela's Beacon.

When I attacked the Argon SPP it launched a Nova at me. My turrets persuaded the pilot that his ship wasn't as safe as his spacesuit and he gave me his ship.

I was amazed there was anything left though cos I was in my Osprey with Twin Beta HEPTs on the rear and a Gamma HEPT on the top & bottom turrets!!

Captured him with around 60% hull left.

Two ways to get lots of Novas: cap them somewhere with a dock/shipyard, where replacements keep spawning (IIRC Antigone Memorial is good), or do assassination missions with Argon targets, where you stand a chance of getting one faster than normal. Can't think why you want them, though.

I,ve found that capping split mambas is VERY profitable. At 87% your can sell them 4 over 600,000cr if your lucky and cap them with equipment u can get over 700,000cr.

By far the most profitable m3 to cap :)

Novas are the easy'st m3 you can cap. There slow as old people on morphine!! Split ships get the most money though but there a pain in the arshole to cap. I personaly use a barracuda to cap Novas with bhepts and iond's. Just strafe em into submission! :D

capping

ive finally settled on a strategy of sorts . im only going to take novas occasionally and have received some usefull tips from the squad at u.n.c.c :D . especially the one about.. drones . i think ill stick to alternating between b.h.s and family nyg? killing zennon with both argon and split police license there are handy ship yards for captured xzennon the l can fetch up to 350k. any you dont cap you get paid to kill so the time you spend capping isnt a total loss and if you ONLY go to cap xenon l you can factory manage inbetween waves ( while doging emms and enns } and whenthe khack arrive i just dock untill their numbers are downand manage factorys .. i dunno about anyone else but when switching from the nova to the herculeese its a real pain the slow and ponderous steering . but you get a great sensation of mass and it ,for me , ads to the realism of the game . i still have to get used to flying the herculeese and remember not to bump into things bigger than me . not to perform any sill moves when your own ships are docking . and just watch it more carefully in general . ive destroyed my own osprey and several transports sorry for the long winded post

I discovered one funny thing, probably known allready. If you capture the ship, your race ranking dosnt move, but if you destroy it, then it sinks like a rock.
