Just wondering where I've gone wrong

Post by WebCorp »

I've followed the guide to unpacking Dat files and when I have modified the TShips Txt file I start the game and crashes to windows claiming the save game may be corrupt. I'm using version 1.3 and I'm trying to edit the game so I can dock M3's on the M6 so I can get more BBS missions.

putting invalid numbers in the types files can cause the game not to load. try loading the game with your mod unselected.
(or if you didn't pack it up, move the modified types file out of the directory and put the original one back to 'turn it off')

Thanks for your help but I do want to know one thing is that if you can dock a nova at an M6 without having to change the appearance and other stuff because when I managed to get it to work My nova had turned into an M5, so what I want to know is if I can change the hangar bay of the M6 to accept the M3 like the destroyer without changing the M6 into a destroyer.
I'd appreciate any help
cheers

nope, the only way to do this is to change an M3 into an M5 - or rather, to make a new M5 that has the look and feel of an M3; but I suppose you could make an M2 have the look and feel of an M6, although that would really be a waste of an M2
