I want the Osprey to be better!
Okay, so the Teladi Osprey is the best... ship I found anywhere in the game (at least for my personality type.) However, it's slow, and I think that the Teladi really would have done better than that with the ship that's "designed for the wealthy business mogul". However, I can't mod for crap with this game. The Tships file is a bunch of incomprehensible numbers with no words to tell me what they mean. Freelancer was easier to mod
I want a mod where the Osprey mounts two Gamma PPC in front (turrets don't matter much), turns like an M3 and moves like the Teladi Harrier, and an extra 125MW Shield slot would be nice too. Also, flying an M6 cuts me out of a lot of BBS jobs because I have to dock to stations with my m5! I need to be able to dock an M3 instead. I don't need to dock more than one ship; I just need to dock a different class. If anyone who knows what they're doing with the modder likes the idea and decides to do it, please send it to me at dc040583@yahoo.com. I'd be most grateful.

Sorry to p*ss on your chips, but I think your chances of someone actually doing it for you are close to non existant.
You also may well find, that the game would become as boring as sh*te with all those alterations. You'd be invincible, and there'd be no point in playing.

Yeah, you're right--it was late at night and I was being dumb. Could someone at least tell me how to make sense of the TShips file (the explanation in the PDF file didn't seem to bear much relation to the actual Tships file), how to make the mod actually change the game, and how to stop the modified game from crashing every five minutes?
As to the challenge aspect, the combat AI is so pathetic that I wouldn't be any more invincible than I already am. Already the only ways I can die are to get careless and run into a station or get stupid and try to take on a capital ship. Or, of course, to simply sit there and let them kill me. The modifications I mentioned wouldn't change that. The only thing they'd do is make it a lot less annoying to nail down those pesky Xenon L's and a lot more practical--less suicidal--to explore Xenon and Khaak space without having to resort to that pathetically armed, speedy Boron Hydra I have stowed in an equipment dock.

I read the tutorials. The stats for the TShips file bore no relation to what I read in the tutorial; i. e. whether or not the tutorials were useful to others, they were useless to me. The Ships file described in the tutorial had nice labels on every number to tell me what it meant. The actual TShips file had nothing but meaningless numbers, no text at all. All I could figure out was which set of numbers went to which ship. I'm afraid it's just not possible for me to mod that file; the only one who can make sense of it is the computer!
