Negative laser damage?

This just kind of came to my mind just now, and I am curious if it can be implementable.

What if you could make change a laser to inflict NEGATIVE hull damage? As in, each shot would actually restore the ship's hull? Could that effectively create a working repair drone?

I bet this has been tried before, but hey, what the hell, right?

I'm sure it'd doable, but I don't think that the scripting language could do it.

It'd have to be a mod, I reckon.

you could change ions to repairingbeamers abd add repairing drones to the game :P

Without going into details, I can tell you that I'm pretty sure that any attempt to make a weapon cause negative damage is doomed to failure.

hmm are there any cheat scripts out there that repair your ship.

If there are, couldn't you call a modified, fair version of such a script when the weapon fires.

Thus you have a repair drone :)

I'm not certain but i think you can modify the hull value of a ship in scripting right?
