...get Faster Lasers mod. Any of them, really, but especially Shadowtech. Then go to a Xenon sector and fight a Xenon K.

Yowch.

Shadowtech must be some kind of masochist, because his mod does not only increase all projectile speeds by 3. It also increases all ranges by 3, and another version of his mod even nerfs the PSG. My Osprey went from full shields to shields critical in under ten seconds after running up on a K. And that's BEFORE I even got within the firing range of PSGs. Strafe? What strafe? It's almost like GPPCs turned into kyon beams...

Anyway... just thought I'd share. This is for anyone who thinks that fighting Ks is too easy, try that mod :) I know I'll be making my own where the power of the GPPC is a wee bit tamer ;)

increasing the speed alone will increase the range because the lifetime's what determines that

Correct. Moreover it increases the damage per second, which becomes shockingly noticeable when you move in closer.

I understand the general mechanics of the mod, it's just the shock value that I didn't realize ;)

Damage per sec is actually tied more into refire rate, and not speed.
But, whatever :oops:
