I played Freelancer, like a lot of you have, I don't own a joystick, and I never plan on buying one either (simply because there's not enough simulation games around that I find interesting (most of them simply ain't fun/good enough)) and the only reason I even considered picking up Freelancer was because the excellent mouse+keyboard support the game has, not sure if even supported joystick (which is extremely stupid if it didn't, seeing that supporting both would allow them to reach the biggest amount of players).
X2 looks like an awesome game, both from the features, and the screens, but I'm worried about the controls.. If there's one thing that can be learned from Freelancer then it's how easy it was to fly using mouse+keyboard.
So, if X2's gonna have support for the mouse+keyboard combo, don't do it like other sim games, where it's near impossible to use the mouse+keyboard, and one has to press 15 buttons to control the speed alone, and another 10 for the weapons. So make it good too, it can't be THAT hard (no, I'm not a programmer, so I'm assuming, not saying).

It's easier than any FPS mate.
There's ease of use and there's bloody st00pid.
Unfortunately FL falls into the latter category.
