We all know what time of year it is( i.e. coming up to April 1st) so before any bright spark posts an April Fool's "X2 has gone GOLD" posting or similar, please spare a thought for the many people who are on tenter-hooks waiting for this game.

It would really mess with people's emotions and not in a nice fun way either. I like a good joke too, but if someone were to do that, then eternity with Bealsibub and all his hellish intruments of death, would be a picnic compare to five minutes with me.....and this pencil ! Oh, good point. Or if someone said that X Gold was being re-released in a week, or that a playable demo of X2 would be released in a couple of weeks. All these things would be terribly cruel and unfunny jokes.

Frankly, this year I will keep away from anything remotely resembling 1st of April jokes as I am too well known for them. Just let me remind you of last year's joke:

EGOSOFT is getting bought out by Microsoft's game division and Bernd is starting there as the person in charge of online space simulations. (Like MS is getting bigger and bigger by buying all good competitors and they know when they are on a good wicket and all that crap) As Microsoft have their own space game division with Freelancer or whatever this is called and they won't want any competition blah blah blah.... they will from now on stop all developments on X forthwith and shelf them altogether. Which means no Beta, no X2 nor X2OU either as these ideas will sort of find their way into the Microsoft games eventually.

This is not the text I posted, only the subject of it.

But then again you do not yet know who the "REAL" publisher of X2 - The Threat is going to be?

Just food for thoughts: why was Freelancer stuffed up the way it was?

Perhaps to give X2 - The Threat its rightful place where it belongs and because it is a better game?
