Enterprise model for you to play with

First of all I have to state that i am finding it difficult discovering where i got this model, so i can't give due credit. Soon as i remember i'll add it on. I've managed to work out how to manipulate meshes and create ships in X2 but creating a model like this is a bit beyond me.

I didn't pay much attention to shields and performance, just put them high. weapons are 18 gamma kyon emitters in the usual 6 turrets and she can dock 4 ships externally (just behind the shuttle bay). massive cargo space but she's an M2 so it obviously can't carry stations.

included is a script to enable you to create a free enterprise next to you

and if you're interested i got an xwing and a colonial viper going too

I assume the mod developers kit has instructions for how to add something like this?

What cockpit is it using BTW?

I'll get the viper up in a couple of days.

To install this model you gotta extract the 4 dat files. There are instructions for this on the commanders x2 web site (an excellent site)

I never played the game so i'm not familiar with the ship. If you can find a mesh for it i'll convert it; all the images i've found for it look like it's a simple model so it won't take long. It's materials and textures that are a pain but, hey, what the hell: i need the practice!

that thing with extracting the cat/dat i´v done and then integrated your files in the corresponding folders but in the game even if i activate your scripts it doesnt make a enterprise model, it just makes a normal xenon k...
help...

I've changed it now. Load the scripts into the scripts folder, and put the mod into the mods folder. You don't need to extract the dat diles anymore.

Load the mod at the startup screen and you should be there.

Any problems let me know.

I assume that either you didn't replace the Tships file or you didn't delete the 01-04 .dat and .cat files.

anyway, i've changed it into a mod so download again and try again

Hi,

i´ve now tried your enterprise mod version. first of all: great model, but there are still serveral problems:

1. if you go into the command console of the ship you cant give orders except for this weird special command, which means the ship can´t dock or fire, etc.
Even activating via "r" of all of your scripts does not solve the problem.
...Well at least you can crash on your enemies and destroy them that way....

2. If you have created an enterprise, you save, exit the game choose another mod, load the save with the enterprise created the game crashes to the desktop

and 3. i know it´s a lot of work, but how about you also model the inside cockpit view like the enterprise-e???

hmm. works ok for me, even on a fresh install. sounds like the upgrade.list and eqpt.list scripts aren't working. what version of X2 are you running? I'll do some more testing.

Yeah, that'll happen. Rather than replace a ship in the game i created a new one so a saved game from the mod has a ship that doesn't exist. If you want to include the ship in your game you need to extract the files and put them in their corresponding folders (after extracting 01.dat - 04.dat files)

Another way is to rename the dat and cat file for the mod to 05.cat and 05.dat and putting them with the others in the x2 folder. I haven't tested this but it should work (treats the mod like an update).

You're right: That is a lot of work; but it's my next project anyway. I'm not expecting it to be easy.

try downloading this pck: http://www.ezekiel.co.uk/x2files/mods/498801.pck and placing in the t directory.

I forgot to include the german text file; sorry about that.

if that works i'll include it in the mod let me know

Hi again,

a problem i had with your enterprise model was it crashes during the loadscreen when i load a savegame where i have created a enterprise model but chosen a different mod before.

so i´ve tried your suggestion with coping(copying???) the cat/dat renamed to 05.dat/cat to the root folder.

then it loadedBUT....in the cockpit view of the enterprise there was only some white milky view(in german i would say "schleier")

you could give still no offers in the command menu, and if you tried to leave the ship, to another docked ship or to space in your space suit the game doesnt crash but it just stops which means music is playing on you can press esc but everthing else does not react anymore.


hope it´s not just my pc´s problem

your last tip with the german pck i couldn´t test yet because i actually have to work now but i write again as soon as possible

How do you install the model into the game its fully up to date with patches?. Can anyone help me I'm a Keen Enterprise Man.

could someone post a shot of the ship in the game to see it without risking a mess up in the game
