X2 - A question

Post by CanadianBrit »

Does anyone know if we will need any of the previous titles installed or will X2 come with all the necessary files?

I mean for example XT required XBTF to be installed on your machine. Will this be the same for X2?

I could then sell my copy of either of the current ones to anyone who wants it!

X2 is a new game - not an expansion - so no!

Plus with the lack of copies of X-BTF and XT floating around - You would have real trouble expanding the fan base!!!!!

Depends on the terms of the license agreement. AFAIK only commercial (e.g. expensive!) software tends to come with a license agreement which effectively says you've paid £400 just for the right to use the program for a while--since games don't come with any such agreement, you can assume they are fully yours once you've bought them in a shop.

My understand is that it's a totally new game. So I very much doubt that a copy of BTF or XT would be required.

Making X2 dependent on XBTF or XT would be commercial suicide.
