Can I return to original state?
I installed a new .dat and .cat file to see what it would do, now the game seems a bit pointless. Is there any way to return the game back to the original story line. I have tried deleting the new .dat .cat but I fear the game has been permanently changed.

Thank you for your reply. I think I have resolved the problem. I installed an Argon modified .dat & .cat file which allows me to have 5k cargo, increasec hull and 16 125MW shield on a Disco. The modified .dat & .cat files were 05 - I deleted these reinstalled the 1.3 patch and everything seems fine as long as I don't use the save game from the modified .dat/.cat files - this has removed the modified banner on the top left of the screen. (it was quite nice for an hour or so, especialy after I've been working X for weeks now but the experience was very short lived) is ther any real point to adding modified scripts??
I have got to the point in X where I have completed the Omicron Lyrae mission, can you tell me if there is still objectives and a storyline?

once you've completed the Omicron Lyrae mission, that's it except for a couple of downloads you can buy from the BBS and a message from Ban about your father
you installed a mod, something that fundimentally changed how the game was designed to work. scripts are (in the vast majority of cases) merely little programs that change how you interact with the default game engine - maybe by allowing you to use less ships to keep your stations running, maybe by helping you patrol certain areas to keep the Khaak under control... and yes, there's plenty of point to using them!
just stick to the stuff that doesn't give you something for nothing
