I've recently returned to the game after a long hiatus, and despite the game improving massively, there still are a couple of things that frustrate...
I tend to put a field of laser towers around gates I'm defending, but over time they get damaged and destroyed. - What I would love is a command, or even a ship subtype that can auto pickup, repair and then return damaged deployables back to their original position. - I'd be more than happy to have the repairing ship have to carry parts that get consumed to do this.

Not a feature in the vanilla game as far as I know.Gavrushka wrote: ↑Mon, 7. Jul 25, 13:48 I've recently returned to the game after a long hiatus, and despite the game improving massively, there still are a couple of things that frustrate...

Part of the reason is that repair of satellites/laser towers can only be done with a repair laser. Meaning in a spacesuit. And NPCs do not do spacesuit repairs.

A dedicated repair ship would be a great addition. I can definitely see the AI challenges involved, but honestly, a repair ship accidentally ramming its target is still a much better scenario than fighters crashing into theirs.

Re: Deployable Repair Automation?
All ships can auto-repair damaged lasertowers (and other deployables) simply by picking them up. Thus, they can be immediately redeployed. All that's really needed is an automated command to do so.
