Graphics breaking in version 7.6

Started playing X4 in version 6.5, worked fine. Updated to 7.0, worked fine. Updated to 7.5, few minor hiccups, but nothing too bad.

Updated to 7.6 and the graphics issues are making the game unplayable. Graphics entities will randomly unload themselves and refuse to load back in, so all of a sudden I can't see the ship, or the surroundings, or the background, or the map, or the radar, or the speedometer - you get the picture. Sometimes they will randomly load back in properly, other times I'm suddenly flying an invisble spaceship through a black void and the only remedy is to quit the game and reload it. If left to go on for too long - I just timed it and it took 30 minutes - the game will spontaneously close itself with no warning, losing all progress made since the last save point.

I love X4, and I want to keep on with it, but this is intolerable. Please, Egosoft, whatever you did in version 7.6 that's causing this, for the love of god revert it in the next update, it's completely tanking the game.
