I have recently encountered an issue with turrets not locking and engaging a target, and I have an interesting clip that even took it a step further, a ship came through the gate, and my guns immediately started going to town on that ship, while another one has been sittin here pounding on me trying to get an inch. the one ship that they did lock on is likely one that my ship has already shot at multiple times during its several passes through the gate. it manifested during/after a big fight involving hundred of fighters and defense drones. things I've tried in hopes of them going back to normal include turret I/O, teleporting, allowing the captain to take over, and then retaking command, even closed the game to take a break, and tried again with no change. also setting turrets to attack my target yielded no results. I was wondering if theres some sort of cache that tracks existing targets, and if there's a chat command to flush them, or something to bonk them back into working order. though maybe I should have scoured the keybinds for a function that force turrets to attack not that it would fix the overall issue
Now onto the biggest one I have come to call my newest peeve. this has been a thing since I've started playing, and it is beyond old. could a keybind function be added so one can spam "remove all orders" on any units currently selected? Especially now that frame rates aren't very friendly with context menu and the context menu is now simply disappearing before i can click on anything, I'm to the point i have a lot of moving pieces on my map, and having to right click and click remove all orders multiple times only to find the unit, or some out of all units still following orders that should no longer exist. I cant really tell if its a UI issue, or if the mechanics behind "remove all orders" are simply dysfunctional, though now that im moving groups of units around and some of them still execute deleted orders, i guess that kind of answers that, just to be able to bind a key so i can spam it would be swell..
Additionally, when removing all orders is executed, and the ship im flying (either singularly, or selected part of a group), could it be made to queue and happen the moment the captain reassumes command. every time either while still in control, or in the varying period of time it takes them to reassume command, the orders are never removed and they dont even hestitate to flip a b**** and start flyin in the wrong direction, with nary a heads up "This ship is resuming course" or "Resuming orders"
Thanks for the amazing game that is X4, and thanks for giving unto us the opportunity to yeet the Q-ball bro's escape pod after all the crap those 2 put me through just to get an astrid early game
