Hello guys.
Im new to game and after few days, I have begin to build some production stations.
Started with microchips and resources needed for their production. As the stations are close to each other, I am using one ship with local autotrade to be able handle more resource types than one.
On my stations I have checked rule just for my faction, so the microchip factory wont buy materials from other traders. But as the minimum price for Silicon Wafers can be set to minimal value 180cr, and my advanced autotraders from near region keep bringing materials from NPC stations that are selling it cheaper. 143cr exactly and my stocks in refinery are getting full.
Is there any way to avoid this withour forbidding advanced autotraders to trade with this comodity, or building oversized stations with all type of production on it?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions

Since the trader is (as far as I understood you) not a station subordinate, it won't obey a trade rule applied to the station. You'd have to make a general trade rule and enable that on the trader itself.
Alternatively, you can give your stations subordinate traders and they will obey station trade rules. As you scale up productions you'd soon figure out you'll need fleets of traders to ship all the wares around and letgin autotraders do that would very quickly become near impossible to follow specific production chains to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
As long as you have sufficient traders assigned to stations, they'll do the job just fine.

1 option is if all stuff you buy using adv. autotrader are located in same sector limit gate travel of buy to 0.
Then it will look stuff only from that same sector where it's assigned.

Thanks for advices guys. Reducing range on autotraders would be like making them local traders only. But the idea of making trade rule for them sounds good.

If you could sell your Wafers to NPC, then you would make at least 37cr profit per Wafer without producing any?

That is what I did in the earlier games: relieved NPC from their cheap wares and sold same ware from my stations to NPC with much higher price.
Alas, X4 does not support such "open trade" model well. Probably because many players focus on transfers within their own stations.

Can local trader trade multiple wares? If it does not, then Adv. autotrader is more than mere local trader.
