[#3853][7.5 BUG] Ships Stuck in Internal Storage Aboard the Hyperion - Fixed in a future update.

Post by apatheticalien »

Hello!

In my current playthrough using the "Stranded" gamestart, I’ve encountered a game-breaking bug involving The Hyperion. I have two ships stored in its internal storage, but I’m unable to retrieve them. The "Retrieve from internal storage" option is greyed out when accessed via the dock computer. If I right-click the docked ships, the option becomes available, but selecting it does nothing — the ships remain stuck.

I’ve attempted various workarounds including issuing different commands, altering ship behaviors, and reloading saves, but none have resolved the issue. Additionally, trying to dock a third ship to The Hyperion simply places the command in a queue indefinitely — the ship never attempts to dock.

This occurred while I was progressing the Hatkivah storyline. I had parked The Hyperion at the gate in Silent Witness XII and used a shuttle to continue part of the plot. Upon returning, I was unable to dock or retrieve the stored ships.

No changes were made to the game, system, or software prior to the issue. The game is entirely unmodded and running in vanilla state.

Came here to report the exact same thing. I've got my Geometric Owl, along with another ship, stuck in the Hyperion. This only seemed to happen when I tried to retrieve another ship from internal storage. It appeared to have retrieved to wrong ship, then when I undocked, I couldn't dock again, and I couldn't retrieve any other ships either. It's being stuck like this ever since.

Hi, thank you for your reports.

apatheticalien - I just inspected your savegame and found something peculiar that is hard to explain without any context from the player. It might seem totally unrelated to you, but it's not. Since the last time you used the dock of the Hyperion (or saw it being used) successfully, did you interact with the "Litigious Rodent" (your Moreya (ZJI-988), which you got from the Yaki Storyline) that is currently parked in the Mars sector on the local Terran Wharf? Do you remember flying it at all recently or did you order it somewhere recently?

Orruner - If you happen to have a savegame, I would love to take a look. When you wrote "It appeared to have retrieved to wrong ship, then when I undocked, I couldn't dock again, ...", did you mean that you got into the ship that was retrieved incorrectly and undocked with it?

Hmm I can't remember. Off the top of my head I believe I may have been using that ship to explore. I have also saved over that save game and don't have access to it anymore through the link. If you still have it I'd be happy to check it out and try to jog my memory :)
