Hi all,
I am trying to claim the Yasur, but for some reason I cannot download the Venture's Extension. In-game I have selected to automatically search for and download updates in the settings menu. When I close and restart the game I get a "downloading Venture's Extension" dialogue box which pops up containing a progress bar. However, that progress bar never moves. It does give me the option to "skip" which brings me into the main menu of the game but it when I checked the settings menu there is still not ventures extension available.
Additionally, I have paused my antivirus and my firewall, but that did not seem to affect the inability to download the extension. I do not have any mods enabled in game. I also placed the Egosoft folder in My Documents and the X4 Foundations folder in my Steam downloads as a whitelist under my antivirus but that didn't help.
Inside of the Steam folder I do have a folder that is created when I start the download process - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions\ego_dlc_ventures however there are only three items which total a few KB in size and does not change with download time.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Any other ways to download the Venture's Extension so I can claim the Yasur?
EDIT: Solution for my issue is below in the 4th post on this thread.

Re: [7.50] Ventures Extension will not Download
It sounds as though something is blocking your download whether it is an AV/protection issue (sometimes people have a separate antivirus and say Windows Defender going at the same time), or maybe a permissions/read only issue where the necessary files need to go.
There was a somewhat similar thread a while back which though eventually resolved was never really explained.
Oh and one other thing is to make sure that your system time is accurate even though that is being addressed in the beta.
Trivial question, but is there room in memory and disk for the download?

Re: [7.50] Ventures Extension will not Download
Update: It is certainly something on my side of things, not listed in those two threads previously. Of course plenty of space to download.
However I restarted my computer in "clean boot mode" ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... 7a1807f3dd ) and was able to download Ventures. I will do a little more experimenting with re-enabling different programs and services on my Windows 11 PC and see what is causing the issue.

Re: [7.50] Ventures Extension will not Download - Something on user system and being investigated by user.
Final follow-up. The issue was stemming from a program on my computer called cFosSpeed. It is a "traffic shaping" program that came pre-installed on my MSI motherboard. It was also called GigaByte Speed when I searched to uninstall it.

That's an interesting discovery. Thanks for following up and letting us know so that we can advise others in a similar situation.
