Resource Density

Hi, so i have a ore refinery in windfall union summit

It seems to have a nice reserve of 6.6m ore and silicon in areas i haave discovered.

Yet, an awful resource destiny, compared to saturn 2 for example (which has 1.5 ore density) Windfall I only has 0.02 and i am feeling how my miners mine slower compared to miners in saturn 2

So, my mining operation requires 276480 ore per hour and, i'am mining with 16 magnetar (refinery is in windfall I so no travel distance)

1)Can you give me answers about how does density work ? 1.5 meaning 75x faster mining time compared to 0.02 ?! or no ?

2)Any recommendation, i am restricting myself to use only windfall and avarice resources, btw :)

Use more M-size miners as they are more efficient when low yield of resources per asteroid chunk.
L-size miners operate better when asteroid chunks have higher amount of resource.

Try installing green "Digger" shipmod on magnetar mining turrets for every magnetar.

Well, i found the best place to mine in avarice, dead end there are 3 mining fields with resource density at 0.1 which is 50x than windfall

I am sending my miners there, nevertheless, i have to mod them.

PFF, i really hate to do mod every single miner goes in avarice, seriously that's like 60 manual modding just for the miners !!

It is understandable, but basically digger gets 425-500% mining bonus. I've installed it on all my ships and it feels like I need several times less miners now. It is possible that I'm overestimating its importance, of course. But you could try it on one ship and see if it changes anything. It doesn't work on gas miners, though.

5X mining ?! that's seems op, well i'll try thnx. No Worries about gas mining, both avarice and windfall has insane amount of gas (I mean windfall alone has 500m hydrogen)(both density and cap), no need to do anything

For a turret it is installed on, yes. You'd need up to 3 of them depending on miner. However it is not clear whether it increases yield or makes the miner mine faster. That's why I recommended to test it on a single ship first. It does seem to make a significant difference. I'm running a megastation right now, and like I said - it needs fewer modded miners vs unmodded ones.

I upgraded only the large mining turret, reassembled until i get +%450 in every single of them and upgraded them with exception hazard removal, let's see.

I need to feed 2 24x refined metal modules (12 magnetar for each of em)
