[CLOSED] X4 Legends: Your Universe, Your Legacy

Post by Tomonor »

Dear Space-Entrepreneurs, Warlords, and the peaceful Boron in the corner there,

I hope this message finds you well. X4: Foundations has been around for quite some time now - enough time, in fact, for some legendary player universes to surface.
I'll be short and blunt here: we'd like to see these player universes, as many as possible.
If we find some universes creative, interesting, or cool enough, they might even be featured in our marketing materials, or by EGOSOFT's founder, Bernd Lehahn himself.

🎁 Rewards
But don't think we want you to do this without a reward. Everyone who sends us their ultra-epic save game will be rewarded with 5x Haggard paint mods.
Image
Pictured: Haggard paint mod

Sounds like a cool deal, eh?

That said, we do want to impose some rules.

🚨 Rules
  • By sending a savegame, you consent to that savegame being used for marketing purposes by Egosoft.
  • Only consider sending us your save file if you find it cool or interesting - meaning that you've already progressed along following lines: set up automated supply chains between your factories, terraformed every planet, destroyed everyone in a single fighter, accumulated an insane sum of money, taken over some part or the entire universe, waged war on everyone and survived, etc. -Again, these are just random ideas to showcase what kind of save games we are looking for, but even if your play session doesn't measure up, don't feel discouraged to post your save anyway.
  • Your game session must not be influenced by third party mods.
  • As we are looking for save games that rely on creativity, we can't impose milestone rules - such as requiring PHQ to be present. But keep in mind that a clean universe with barely any player involvement won't do here.
  • This event will run until 18 May, 2025.
  • The rewards will sent out shortly after the event ends. They will appear in your online inventory automatically.
🏆 How to Participate
  • Simply put, upload your selected save game file to a cloud or file-sharing site such as Dropbox, and post the link to it in this thread. These files can be quite large, so be prepared with larger storage space and longer upload times.
  • If not using compressed save games, please consider compressing them into a .zip archive (.rar or .7z are fine too) before uploading. This will save upload/download volume.
  • Write a small description of what we might find interesting in your save game.
  • Also make sure to provide your Egosoft Account name so that we can send you your rewards.
That's it from me. We hope to receive lots of save games that we can examine and be awestruck by.
Feel free to ask further questions if something is unclear.

Best regards,
Tomonor

Here is a slightly older save where I setup a full trading empire as a Boron before the 1st mission to go through the gate to Sanctuary of Darkness.
I wanted to achieve +30 reputation with the Boron's before moving on into the rest of the universe and it's a good starting point for anyone now.

Boron game (Queen's Herald start): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rjv3yu2v ... 1ez4b&dl=1

I was a very helpful Boron.
All terraforming missions completed.
Built HQ consisting of well over 3k modules to do that terraforming.
Constructed a widespread logistical network of 7 mining outposts to supply resources to that HQ.
Same network also supplied resources to 6 large Shipyard Supply Bases to support friendly NPC factions.
Assisted Boron fleet to victory over ZYA/RHA & northern Xenon sectors.
Game duration: 31 days (no SETA)

Nothing amazing, but worth the skins I suppose
- some factions moved around
- terraforming missions completed
- military power enough to steamroll the universe
- 2x megacomplexes capable of spitting out hordes

Link.

Game age: 25 days
All terraforming done
Xenon extinct
Borons and Argons at war against Terrans
Getsu Fune highly contested

I supply weapons to every empire, while they wage war against each other, so a Lord of War themed savegame :)
I also built a wharf solely for the Yaki :D

In front of you, you can see a terran station sieged by the Borons and the Yaki.

https://easyupload.io/5k7y9r

Edit:
I like my recycling station in Hatikvahs Choice and my little Yaki wharf (which makes lots of profitsss actually). Also my terran station in Asteroid Belt is more profitable than it should be. And since I somewhat overterraformed the place, where you can sell Nvidium, I set up a Nvidium farming operation in Mists of Artemis.

Game age: 29 days (no SETA) -> Note: you play as Paranid, gamestart: Budgeted start
Xenon have gone extinct
Two major conflicts in a concentrated area -> Terrans vs Boron/ARG/ANT/Yaki in Getsu Fune and triwar between HOP/PAR/BUC in Pious Mists II
Third conflict is Zyarth vs ARG/CUB but it is much more spread out so feels less intense.
Quirk: HAT has been expansionistic, so most neutral sectors in Vanilla space are owned by them, hence no major conflict between Boron/Split.
Terraforming status: several are done, Frontier Edge terraforming is in progress. Atiya's Misfortune & 18 Billion have yet to start.

Goal of the game was to solve the good shortages for everyone's shipyards & keep the economy up in a post-Xenon era (note: NPC's wiped out Xenon due to a robust economy). Also to keep as many NPC stations active & trading as possible.
Current state of the game: post-scarcity economy.

Edit: for sightseeing tours there's a few locations I can recommend:
- Duke's Haven Shipyard in Duke's Awakening (former Nopileos Fortune): Like the design I made for them & always ships coming & going as the Duke continuously builds ships.
- CAB Shipyard in Tharka's Ravine: Honeycomb structure shipyard
- Sector Second Contact II Flashpoint at the True Sight Gate -> cramped with NPC stations, gives a sprawling city in space vibe

This is the save I started when i first joined X4. I've got over 38 days in it and I would have more if it wasn't so laggy. Haven't been able to play it much since around Kingdom's End. It's also a bit of a mess but I've acquired a decent amount of assets and built several stations that I really like the design of. The most noteworthy stations in my opinion are:
Headquarters
Mercury Scrap Processing Factory I
Mercury Solar Power Plant II
Asteroid Belt MRE Packing Facility I (A smaller station but I'm a big fan of the design)
Saturn 2 Wharf I
Getsu Fune Gate Defense I (Also a smaller gate defense platform than the others but a much cleaner look)
Hatikvah's Choice I Defence Platform I
Family Zhin Defence Platform I
Heretic's End Shipyard I
Space Dock 2 (Rather than selling ships I no longer have a use for, I send them to 1 of my 2 space docks. I ran out of room on the first one so I built this one to house many more ships)
Family Nhuut Antimatter Converter Factory I (Ugly but massive)
Wretched Skies IV Family Valka Shipyard I

I also have many carriers and destroyers although some I never got around to putting in a fleet after they left the production line

This sounds like the kind of thing I'd like to do but I think I restart too frequently. I find a good challenge in the early game and I enjoy making my run as perfect or as efficient as possible. If I get to day 10 in a run, that's a long time. By that time I can usually have one of each factory built and have energy cell stations in every sector.

Currently my new character is only on day 7. I deliberately decided to go slow and manually do mining in my own ship. I only have one self sufficient wharf and one defense station blocking a gate. I haven't done any of the story yet. Not even the HQ. I have a rule for this run that I can only buy Terran technology and I have to EMP all other station modules, so since I can't research yet, I can't build them.

My goal for my current run is to make the story make sense and hear all the rare dialogue. So I won't do things out of order. Dal has to be on the HQ before the Segaris guys show up begging for Antimatter Cells.

Plus I think another reason it might be difficult to share my game save is I'm using the Yasur. They are great for shipping Energy Cells from Mercury to the Oort Cloud. In the time it takes an Okinawa to fill up and bring a load of Energy Cells down there the Yasur can go and come back so many times that the total number of Energy Cells delivered is higher.

But of course, using the Yasur means my game is the online login type game. If I'm not mistaken, that can't be shared.

You can share it even with the Yasur. I use them plenty & have shared saved games before. Just got to delete the save game after, else you got a negative number of Yasurs in your inventory (got -9 Yasurs Mk1 myself, due to capping them in ventures)

Heys, just wanted to clarify that nothing forbids you from using the Yasur.

Eh, for you consideration:

My Vanilla save (kudos for keeping save game integrity over years, i for one, appreciate it)

236 Days X-Treme trader , ~3T + bank-account (fund start-up chain spam, 10% odds? i mean, really)

My universe is weird, factions are occupying sectors rather un-Vanilla like.

Unsure if there is " promotional grade " content in there somewhere, but:

personally i greatly enjoyed :
- building all the complexes in Grand Exchange 3
- building Guiding Star 5 complexes
- building Trading Hubs to bridge the 5-star manager " gaps " e.g. Profit Center Alpha Hub.

Warnings:
- M9 Shipyard is a monstrosity, and also a slideshow
- PHQ the same, i 1-shot most of the terraforming missions (many S/M Ship modules, also a slideshow)
- i recalled a fair amount of assets back to my "Home" Sector in M9 due to ongoing Xenon/KHA issues

in progress:
Construction Hub complex (building materials stockpile)
Hull Parts complex (when i ran out of Hull parts trying to build the 1st :) )

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eAZbtS ... drive_link

i keep wanting to shelf this game for a while to play other things, but DLC keeps being added ....

I'll be posting mine eventually... but I do the same thing. My original 1.0 save gets dusted off every time an expansion drops... but through plot choices, i sadly brought peace to the universe and so now nothing happens. I just do the new DLC story missions and usually reshelve it. I wish there was a way to undo plot choices...

Here is my submission:
https://easyupload.io/6wqtjq

Of note:
-Terran Protectorate owns Heretic's End
-The gate network is split into roughly 5 factions: Terrans, Tempest, Xenon, Teladi and "the rest" in small corners of the gate network.
-All terraforming completed.
-Roughly 127b or so in net worth.
-Terrans have 13 shipyards
-There is a stargazing platform in Leap of Faith.

This is a 6.2 pre-timelines save. As you can tell, it's titled "Prepped for Expansion (?)" in anticipation of the crisis. This was my first real long-play of x4. I started as Terran Cadet and started the traditional route: mining fleets of Kopises (Kopi?) everywhere grinding rep. I started adding mining stations, then Terran-based industries. I remember being "trapped" in Grand Exchange near the HQ because I couldn't figure out how to get back to Terran space for a while. At some point I ended up getting the materials to teleport it to Getsu Fune and eventually kept building up there with many stations. My first shipyard appears to be in Titan and I kept adding onto it, eventually becoming self-sufficient through the various industries in Getsu Fune and surrounding sectors. I bootstrapped from Terran into Commonwealth materials using Getsu Fune's scrapyard and solar output. From there, I kept adding to the industrial economy to the point where it became what it is now: almost entirely pushing all resources in whatever quantity across most of the gate network.

For the plots, I completed all of them pre-timelines. I sided with Yaki, Duke's Tempest, ZYA and started war between ANT/ARG/BOR and Terrans. Completed the Boron line, Arcadian Endeavor and sided against the Twins for Avarice. Notably, I wiped out VIG and made their sectors a major hub for my shipbuilding to support ZYA against the Xenon. You can see my design for a giga-shipyard Windfall III - The Hoard. It could be better. Along the way, I figured out a really good way to push empires into new sectors. They will tend to build defense platforms in sectors neighboring their own, so I would blow up admin centers to shape the gate network to my liking. Sometimes Terrans specifically would give out missions to build defense platforms in distant lands, so I could build them admin centers there and blow up other empires' admins there so they could claim it. So that's why Terrans own basically all of ANT/ARG and Heretic's End. For Duke's Tempest, they were extremely hostile to PAR/HOP so I just constantly fed them resources at the giant shipyard palace I built them. The coolest thing ever was just after the plot finished, TEM commissioned me to build a defense platform in what is now Duke's Awakening VI. I fudged the borders of the plot so that I could place the platform near the gates. So anyway, the station gatecamped all PAR fleets that jumped in and smoked them, constantly. ZYA removed Argon from the North, but ended up losing most of their territory to Xenon, who basically own the north. But hey, they beat CUB.

Other random tidbits:
I have a large amount of stolen ships, including 7 stolen carriers located in ZZZ fleets. I did a bit of an exploit/abuse to stop VIG from building ships by having over 100 ships docked at their (rebuilt) wharf. HAT owns one of the Silent Witnesses and has a shipyard/wharf so it can build a strange mix of ships. Watchful Gaze is mine with a defense station guarding the Boron from the Xenon. My gate-guardian defense stations that some factions had me build for them are very interesting looking - see Getsu Fune <-> The Void for example. It's just little crosses of defense platforms all around the gate itself. It says I own 3,733 ships.

The Space Duck of Nanek

Post by dtpsprt »

Technical Details:
  • V7.60 BETA 5, All DLCs
  • The Kingdom End DLC was disabled at the beginning so that the PHQ appeared in Grand Exchange I, making it safe to transfer resources for Research and also granting a "free" frigate. It was enabled as soon as the PHQ mission was given by Boso Ta.
  • Game start: "Fires of Defeat" giving the player a free 4star pilot from the beginning.
  • Made a Chimera, a Cobra and a Boa abandon ship and captured them. Now both the Chimera and the Cobra are equiped for the "impossible" mission of "Path to Vengeance".
  • Few Data Vaults have been opened for starting petty cash but not "read" so they remain on the map marked as "partially opened".
  • The Odysseus Vanguard in Faulty Logic VII has been captured and sold to fund the Marine Compliment of the Cobra.
  • The Drill Vanguard in the Void has been captured and fully equipped to take on lucrative missions for the guilds.
  • The Courier Vaguard in Nopileo's Fortune II has been captured and used to lower ZYA rep to -19 so that the FRF will not spoil the "Path to Vengeance" mission before the player. It can be used again for the same reason after eliminating the ZYA Fleet.
  • The player is equiped with Repair Laser, Bomb Launcher (so that the Wide Area Sensor Array blueprint could be hacked and is already used to open the map in Trinity Sanctum VII so there is no need of satellites there that will be inevitably shot down by the Buc) and Hand Laser to open "difficult" Lockboxes.
  • If the "Basic Chassis Mods" are done the Chimera can handle the "Basic Engine Mods" Timed Trial.
  • The Perseus Vanguard has 10 Antimatter Cells ready for the "Cease and Desist" mission. Along with the Theseus Vanguard and the Elite Vanguard are parked in the PHQ waiting for it.
  • There are 100 Advanced Satellites on the Hyperion Made in China and another 100 Advanced Satellites on the Barbarossa, courtesy of the Cobra and one Nemesis Vanguard Bounty Hunter I made to abandon because I needed a Corvette for a HOP War Effort Mission.
  • There is a "Nest Egg" of 30 million.
The link points to a directory so both the savegame and the logo of "The Space Duck of Nanek" can be loaded.[/list]

P.S. The "Space Duck of Nanek" logo is part of a U.S. Fighter Squadron Patch, so it can be used for non-commercial reasons,

Re: [CONTEST] X4 Legends: Your Universe, Your Legacy

Post by grapedog »

This will be my entry.

-Original 1.0 Save, Young Gun start, brought up to current through patches and DLC's along the way, no mods, currently at 56+ days gametime.

-Almost 800 Venture ships sent out, with the vast majority returning... and 16,000+ visitor ships encountered.

-After 56+ days played, still at 0's in Clothing mods installed, staff hired, and paint mods installed.

-Galaxy is at peace(technically TER and TRI are at war... but nothing has happened in a long time), Xenon are eradicated(sadly) though Kha'ak still appear, the Paranid factions have been united, Zyarth's hold on Split space has been shattered, the Great Reef Nebula is not being blocked and the Boron have joined the current iteration of the gate network. Argon, Antigone, and the Terrans are at a crucial decision point... and have been for a while. While the Yaki have been saved, and even have their own shipyard now, the Fallen Families are a scourge so the Free Family shipyards and wharfs remain under heavy guard to make sure none of their ships make it to unpoliced space. The Scale Plate have their planet fixed, and are much less problematic now. The Syndicate was smashed, and protectyon now flows much more freely into the Avarice sectors to anyone who needs it, and the Riptide Rakers are flourishing. I'm still not sure what the Quettanauts do, but they're doing it now...

-All Terraforming missions are complete, all quest lines are completed except for the ANT/ARG/TER decision which I've left lingering.

-It's pretty messy in there, since this was a 1.0 save, it's grown as I have learned more. Some early stations are pretty ugly with clipping and parts from various factions all stuffed into one station, while the later stations are not clipped and stick to one faction for building blocks for the station and look much nicer. I also experimented a lot with building different defense stations(there are a BUNCH), and I think my Split ring defense station is my favorite. There are fleets of ships that some are doing stuff, and others are sitting around... i didn't have a place to put some pilots or crew that I was saving for tougher jobs, but then we got crew training so saving pilots wasn't a big deal anymore. The PHQ is a behemoth, a monstrosity... but it sits ready for any other Terraforming tasks that come about.

-I like this save for seeing how my playstyle has changed so much over the years I've been playing. From how I design my empire to how I design my stations... I learned a lot with this save. I wish everyone wasn't at peace because it's pretty boring now sadly, but with diplomacy coming maybe that will spice things up. It's got a bit of everything...

This is the save of the game running since 1.0 with all DLC and plots completed.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BdDCtV ... NYKUH/view

- Paranid unified into TRI
- CUB victory against ZYA, whatever left of RYA Argons mostly conquered.
- Boron space fully integrated with the rest of galaxy (nice Boron expeditionary task forces around Argon space).
- TRI declared war against all factions.
- orchestrated giant Xenon outbreak that almost destroyed TRI and give a lot of headache to Teladi.
- build my own empire and fortified borders against Xenon outbreak.
- quite robust fleets of my empire.
- some terraforming done (but I don't have patience and motivation to do the rest).
