Laser Towers

Am i doing something wrong ?

Why laser towers are useless against pretty much anything, it seems like they need to turn to target and they turn very slow, i put 20 of them mk2 versions, they don't do damage at all ?!!!! against only 5 interceptors ?!!!!

I did a lot of missions with them just because they also don't shoot me probably because they are too slow to turn, seriously why they are in the game if they have no use ?! Both OOS and IS, they attack maybe 1-2 times in 6-7 minutes for a minuscule effect, they seems to be very much so broken.

Interceptors and very small and agile, while mk.2 lasertower turn slower.

Try mk.1 against interceptors.

Wait, mk2 turn slower ? i thought they would be better in every way, hence mk2

Also do you know if ai also has limited ammo for missiles ? or they have infnite ones ?

Very fond of laser towers myself, however main reason I carry them is as a distraction. If, for example, I'm being pursued by a howling mob of Xenon that is rather larger than I'd want to fight all at once, I chuck a bunch of laser towers behind me to distract some of them, then turn & take out remaining Xenon which have continued the pursuit. Repeating as necessary until all Xenon are gone.

Have also found them highly beneficial during turret smashing missions, again as a distraction - I do a few high speed runs close to the station deploying laser towers, then I can slow down, or even come to a complete stop, & take my time shooting turrets, while those turrets are busy shooting at laser towers instead of my ship.

Limited. You can scan the target ship and see how many missiles it have (currently/total capacity).
When NPC runs out of missiles they try drop laser tower and during that time get to travel mode and escape by heading towards Equipment Dock or Wharf.

honestly, I never use MK2 laser towers. I only use the MK1 variants, they are just a distraction to give me breathing room.

Maybe mk2 laser towers are broken right now?

I just finished that one HQ mission... Enhanced Warfare Research... the one where there's 3 lockboxes guarded by two mk2 laser towers... and they didn't fire at me once.

I did that mission dozens of times in the past, and I always had to be on my toes to take them out.
