I have a mission to deliver a ship; it's the final part of a 4 part mission. I take off, and fly to the ship, destroy some mines and then board it and fly to station.
In every case it says I can not transfer ownership because it's not in the same condition.
I have a saved game before I fly to it; no matter what I try, it says it's not in the same condition. I have tried not destroying mines (it can be flown out); I have tried destroying nearby mines; I have tried reparing the hull to 100% (it starts at 70%).
I also note that the hull seems to heal all by itself slowly over time; perhaps this is the issue?
Version and language (e.g. 7.10 Hotfix 1, English, etc.): English. 7.5 (553255)
Modded: No
The game start you originally selected for the game: Terran Cadet
Exact nature of the problem: See above
Any possibly relevant changes you have made to your game, system, or software before the issue occurred: None. This is just a broken quest.
Where appropriate, additional symptoms, error messages: See above for description.

Re: Unable to deliver ship
We can't investigate what the problem is without being able to see the savegame. Please upload it somewhere reputable (see the first thread at the top of the forum for suggested hosts) and provide a link. If you are using Google Drive then please also remember to make it public.

Re: Unable to deliver ship
Perhaps a silly question, but when you say you fly to it and board it, do you mean with one or more marines or through scanning the dataleak by the suit hatch and claiming it yourself?
If the former then marines will do some damage to an otherwise intact ship, and that could explain why the hull is repairing and the ship is not in the same condition as before. If the hull is fully repaired in time first then you *might* then be able to return it after marine boarding if they have not destroyed any original ship equipment too (a maybe faint hope).
Using the dataleak to claim the empty ship yourself doesn't do any damage and the ship and its equipment will be intact and can be returned.

Re: Unable to deliver ship
OK...this is very odd. I spent an hour or two investigating the problem and finally went back to a much earlier save and replayed the whole quest, and it worked fine. There were two key differences between the saves that make no sense to me:
What would be ideal is if system either (a) listed what's wrong with the ship so it could be fixed, or (b) presented a 'cost' to make it good (eg. if someone removed an engine or cargo).
- In the broken version the ship already had a pilot who let me in; in the restored version the ship needed to be hacked to enter, and had no pilot.
- In the broken version the ship was in the mine field but had taken hull damage; in the restored version it had no hull damage.

Re: Unable to deliver ship
Without the link to a vanilla save where the issue exists then the devs have nothing that they can investigate to find out why it went wrong. You don't need a 'what's wrong with the ship' indication when the code intent is that it spawns pilotless and with nothing wrong with it (and it almost always stays intact and transferrable unless the player 'borrows' its stuff, triggers mines that damage it, or gets attacked on the return route).
It sounds much as though the ship spawning had been corrupted and perhaps by it having an NPC pilot and potentially moving, some of the nearby mines attacked and damaged it. The underlying reasons remain mysteries.
