Hi all,
If anyone know a work around, please do share.
Have been having a bit of frustration with the availible commands for fleets:
- All ships set to bombard/intercept have a tendency to target low threat/far away targets (one Osaka targeting an L mining ship half way across the hex rather than the enemy capital in front of it!)
- Fighters set to defend throw themselves futilely against attacking capitals, whilst capitals set to defend waste their time in vain trying to maneuver to face a buzzing light fighter.
- Ships set to defend position do a combination of the above, failing to prioritise L/S+M/non-combatant targets as appropriate, and often following them across the map.
What is the feasibility of adding:
- L/S+M specific versions of Position Defence and Defend Commander?
- Creating an exclusion condition for non-combatant ships for position defence?
I assume it is possible as Intercept / Bombard orders can already distinguish between ship classes, and faction relations can target military ships only.
For context, I used full mixed-role fleets - carriers with fighter complements, and wings of Destroyers.
In the meantime, how do people organise their fleets to compensate for this?
Regards
(As an aside, does anyone know if the Sapporo's increased radar range affect the range of these commands at all, either as the command leader, or just by being a member of the fleet?)

Re: Fine-Tuning Fleet Controls: Fighter/Capital Defence
Defend for Commander relies on the Commander's range, and I think it is reasonable to assume that all For Commander roles do also.
