So let's say I have a wharf set up to produce Terran ships and I only want Terran ships built there. Say I have another wharf set up for closed loop. Say I have another set up for universal. Each wharf will try to buy all the wares needed for every ship I have the blueprint for. If I don't want my station in Venus to buy hull parts I have manually go in and set storage to 1. But even then it still has wasted space.
So I ask that we can decide which blueprints are available to our wharf instead of just all of them all the time.

If the concern is factions trying to buy ships a wharf cannot build, this is solved by trade blacklists for sale of ships. I.e. if you only allow TER/PIO to buy, they'll always buy TER tech ships. ARG/RIP/VIG will buy closed-loop-compatible tech, everybody else will buy universal.thedavid wrote: ↑Wed, 2. For storage though there's no automatic workaround.

I'm not worried about factions. That's easy to solve. I find it tedious and wasteful that a wharf that will never need advanced electronics wants to waste my storage space.

Maybe an easier way would be to let us uncheck the wares, even if they are "needed". Similar to how trade wares work. Or even a checkbox to hard-enforce the build method so it acquires nothing outside of that automatically.
Seems like a lot less setup that way than choosing from owned BPs.

The "trade wares", "wares to filter", "sectors for whitelist" are all long lists. At least the sector list is "all/some" selection. If there were list for ship blueprints, then it could default to "all" like now, and would not differ from those other lists.LameFox wrote: ↑Wed, 2. The build method lacks finer control -- can you serve it with or without water?

That is what setting storage to 1 or uncheck of "needed" ware are -- duct tape on hole that should not have been drilled in the first place.

List of wares used by wharves would be shorter than those lists. So "do not offer blueprints requiring ware" and "disabling" specific ware could be fairly compact.

I really don't like that currently, shipyards and wharfs just toss all (terran and universal) blueprints together.

I've asked for this before and seen a bunch of players suggest it too, so naturally this gets another +1 from me.
Being able to enable/disable blueprints on individual wharfs/shipyards/equipment docks would be great just to declutter organisation and keep logistics efficient for when a player wants to build multiple wharfs/shipyards across the universe to service different economies (terran, commonwealth and closed loop). Obviously not just ships but all other equipment too. A dropdown menu where you can check and uncheck from your list of acquired blueprints would be very much welcomed!

That is a clever filter.
... and would like "the Split Fleet Assembly Yard" to offer only the ship types that it will build -- I was just trying to spot "Rattlesnake" from the not-so-short list of L blueprints that I have -- then a prefilter there would be convenient but a ware-based filter cannot achieve that.

oh and while we're at it, this would be good to be done along Shipyard screen GUI modernization - it was done for 1.0, when there was much less ships and equipment.

Being able to disable certain blueprints would be great, so I could for example have a Terran only shipyard which is not attempting to buy all the commonwealth wares for ships.
