Hyperion can easily get the Erlking for you

I am doing a new fresh playthrough with Terran Cadet. It got to be about time to get the Erlking but I didn't want to cheese the boarding and I was still training up my marines. I decided that this time I was not going to board the ship.

I tried to use the Trinity to long shot the ship but you have to get so close that the station still gets mad at you. So instead I sent the Trinity in without me to delete the old Erlking. The station did not get mad but I only got a drop in reputation with Vigor from +10 to -9. I still had landing permissions so it was ok. I could still trade with them to recover my rep.

Boso used some energy cells (seriously that is the only cost) to get the powercore. I found all the data vaults and so now as soon as I have an XL fabrication bay I can build a new proper Erlking with fresh equipment.

I had destroyed the Erlking before using the Odysseus but that would always turn out bad for me. With the Trinity having 7 km range on its main guns it can easily destroy the Erlking without even taking damage.
