7.50 (Post Beta) Flickering renders

Post by Talamaeus »

So, while no where near as bad as during the betas of 7.50, I still get the "unrender/rerender" issue where everything disappears and then comes back. IT tends to happen after longer sessions of play, and restarting will stop it for a while, but as the time runs on, it gets more and more frequent. Any idea what's causing this? Let me know if there is anything you need me to show you. I'll create a vanilla save if needed as well. I'm just wondering if it's a "Engine glitch" kind of issue or something else. Settings don't seem to affect it much.

The very first thread at the top of the forum, entitled "Technical Support Requests - Please read this before posting!", tells you what information you need to provide in order for us to have much chance of being able to help you. Without that, the only thing I can suggest is that you try disabling Volumetric Fog.

For the record, the issue is caused by the game running out of video memory, and usually only happens on lower-end graphics cards.

One of my children plays this game off and on using my old 2060 6GB card. This issue reared its head once dlss/fsr etc was added. They have 1440p monitors so it's a vram issue in my case. Native resolution is generally acceptable until the game bogs down as time flows. You should be okay provided you can utilize native raster at proper resolutions for your card. It's great they added DLSS/FSR however what Nvidia or AMD don't plainly state often enough is you also require the resources to run such things. No free lunches.
