Is there a way to revert the flight model change for the GOG version?
I love the new flight model, but... the AI isn't ready for it, and it shows. From 'Mine Your Own Business' to 'Capital Ship Engagement' in Timelines, to AI wingmates sitting in place firing on a Graviton turret, to the fact that the spacesuit controls even worse it's making Timelines even less fun than it was. How would I revert to before the flight model update on GOG? Thank you!

Unless you kept the previous "Offline backup game installers" somewhere, you can't.
For X4 GOG only lists the most recent installers. https://i.imgur.com/wZ4Wm9d.png
I keep mine on an external Hard drive as a local backup normally, but for 7.5 I just cleaned out the old files to make room for 7.5 installers.
If you use GOG Galaxy, I dont think that has any kind of revert to previous (not sure, long time since I used it).

Not sure (as I don't use) if GOG Galaxy allows you to revert previous version.
I keep atleast 1 full backup of each major version (starting from 3.10 to 7.10hf3) + patches to upgrade the latest of GOG offline installers in my own NAS just in case but I don't have Timelines DLC.

Could be, could be. I also remember recently GOG announced their cloud storage can not accommodate files over a certain size, so X4 saves could not be backed up using GOG Galaxy, as they are too big.
I presume GOG also have to store historical installers in the cloud, so maybe related, no clue

It's possible, just based on the note in the page I linked (from GOG developer docs) it doesn't sound like it's on GOG's end:
Fortunately, GOG being GOG, you can just download the installers and back them up locally if it's important to you to keep around an older version of the game. For this feature to work with your game, please do not unpublish any previous updates that have been published to the Master branch.

If GoG can't help you there is only one option and that is the high seas for an older version matey. yarr.

If that is the only way then you must provide a steam key to gog customers.

Friend of mine whom uses GOG Galaxy said there's currently atleast version 7.10 Hotfix 1 available.
So reverting to version 7.10 Htofix 3 which is the last using old flight model is possible.
Keep in mind that sectors which were released in 7.50 and newer nor Hyperion pack are not available / usable with 7.10HF3.

Which is why they should really support old flight model as a toggle. I can say there is no rollback available in GOG for me, and it will go away as soon as they release a new patch anyway. GOG has a beta system exactly like steam, and the version should be made available as a gog beta permantly until this can be resolved.

As someone who hates the new flight model, I would love a toggle. It sucks being locked out of future updates. And before someone chimes in with some variation of "git gud", I can use it. I don't like it.BmB wrote: ↑Tue, 24. Jun 25, 13:58 Which is why they should really support old flight model as a toggle. Brute force and ignorance solves all problems, just not very efficiently.
If brute force isn't working, then you aren't using enough.

Having a toggle would mean they commit to maintaining two separate sets of stats for all the ships and engines/thrusters in the game and ever added to the game. Will never happen.
Best you can hope for at this point is some player with the mod skills and free time dislikes the new system enough to do it.
