Hello, all. I'm new to the game, with about 30 hours of play time. I am playing with mods because that's how I enjoy playing games. Yesterday I bought a large gas Hokkaido for some passive income. Unfortunately, when I set the auto-mining parameters, the Hokkaido would fill its cargo hold, but once it was full it would say 'calculating parameters', 'searching for trades', and then eventually it gives up trying to sell its goods and tries to return to mining. I have narrowed down the vessel being unable to see trade data (and therefore is unable to sell) when, and only when, auto-mining behavior is enabled. All stations in Behavior Inspection Mode become greyed out as if they have no vision despite having satellites nearby. When removing the auto-mine behavior in favor of 'hold position', for example's sake, the stations within range of satellites all light up blue in Behavior Inspection again.
Now, this wouldn't be too much of a problem if I was able to isolate a mod that was causing the issue. The real problem is that I disabled every single one of my mods, made a fresh save file, and the issue still persists. I have already ruled out causes like; unskilled auto-mine routine, no station in range, no buy orders at station, no satellite present, no large dock at station, no cargo drones available, etc.
Is anyone able to give me any insight as to what might be happening here? I can provide a save file with the issue present if needed.
Auto-miner doesn't have access to trade data *only* when set to auto-mine

There are three auto-mining behaviours (four, if you count "mine for commander" separately); all of them have a limited range. For example, Local Automine is only capable of selling to stations that don't require traversing a jump gate or accelerator to reach. Which auto-mining behaviour are you trying to use, and where?SludgeDrinker wrote: ↑Sun, 9. I suppose I wasn't clear enough in stating that I have already ruled this out as the cause of the issue. I am using expert auto-mine in the Oort Cloud. There are ample opportunities to trade hydrogen. The ship simply does not have access to my satellite network of trade data and therefore does not know where it could go to trade.MageKingS70 wrote: ↑Mon, 10. Actually, it turns out that being out of range doesn't gray out stations; I just did behaviour inspection on a local autominer currently "searching for trades" and the whole galaxy is lit up, except stations I don't have up-to-date trade data on. If you hover over the greyed-out stations, do any of them have a tooltip like "No matching trade offer found"? Did you try "downgrading" to Advanced Auto-Mine to see if it also has the problem?

It could be a situation in which the market is saturated. Not likely with raw resources but possible. The ship is looking for valid offers to purchase the resources and can't find any, in spite of there being abundant and free resources to sell. This leaves us with two options: 1; something is broken. 2; the ship can't find any buyers because the market is saturated. Check to see if the stations are full, and if your ship has trade exclusions with local factions. If neither of these applies then yes, something is broken.
Auto mining scripts of higher grade might try to sell at better price ratios and you might not be able to control those ratios. It's most likely that there's no demand, or perhaps that your ship is trying to get a higher profit margin by looking for better deals. If the market is saturated then the ship won't have the sale profits you're looking for.
Check the ship's menu. There might be information on the minimum and maximum price for selling resources. Assuming you want to saturate the market, try selling at the lowest price. Or set up a station with mining and distributing ships, like the Boron do.
