What is Your Favorite Change?
My favorite change discovered so far is:
When I edit trader rules using the station menu as a starting point, then on my Player Information page it gets highlighted.
Please do not undermine anyone's point if I can ask that.

For me it is the new gates connecting to Boron space. No more are they confined to their corner, barely interacting with the rest. Now they feel much more part of the greater X-Universe. So happy to see the Boron fly around the universe now.

That ships like the Dragon are no longer useless in combat when their shields go down. The high hull HP never really made sense as a balancing factor before, but now I can see them actually pull their weight in a fight.

That will probably be mine too once it's a bit smoother. Is it still giving out ships with no crew...?

Did not noticed until you mention it.

Oh well, not a deal breaker for me, even when I replace destroyers, I use skilled service crew for them, that I get from rescued crews that usually get send to carriers.

Replace lost ships for me, too. Huge improvement in terms of empire management as trying to find out which ships were lost where and periodically restocking stations was incredibly tedious.

Exactly, huuuge time saver, factories replace their traders, patrol fleets replace their losses, also carriers that have their fighters guarding gates with PD, replace losses like a shark replace teeth.

I love the new sectors, i almost always have my empire in that area of space, so the extra sectors and connections are fantastic.
Replace lost ships is awesome. On a side note, did they fix it so you can pick what shipyard replaces lost ships? Really irritating when my fleet picks my HQ to replace stuff, i only ever have it stocked with stuff to build the terraforming stuff.

Gravidar, and the new dogfighting mode Gravidar that zooms in for close combat. really love the new flight model, plus Boost .. dogfights are way more interesting than they used to be.

Re: What is Your Favorite Change?
New flight model. Specifically, that there are now distinct handling characteristics for each faction's engines, boost is much more useful for capital ships & can now steer effectively while in travel mode (without clunky flight assist off manoeuvres). Has made capital ships much more pleasant to fly. Only downside for me has been the removal of shield draining boost. Did prefer that implementation, however majority had other preferences. Fine with that though, that slight disappointment is more than balanced by my enjoyment of all the other good stuff the flight model changes have brought.

By having that engineer from SC I think our new heading indicator is a superb thing. I'm pretty sure it is coming from SC. And i know i have broken my rule because that is an addition and not a change.

No, that was inspired by player feedback. It had nothing to do with the flight model development.Virtualaughing wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Mar 25, 21:09 By having that engineer from SC I think our new heading indicator is a superb thing. I'm pretty sure it is coming from SC.

The redesign of the Paranid capital ships. I refused to fly the old models as they are the most ugly designs I ever encountered in my 25+ years of space exploration [in games|movies|books|comics].

Thank you for the correction. I have seen that in an early free SC weekend. Next question is how to remove or reduce the particle "virtual snow" effect?CBJ wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Re: What is Your Favorite Change?
If you mean the little specks of Stardust (which always served as an indicator of movement and direction to the player), there is a new setting in 7.5 which allows you to make them fade a bit or completely get rid of them. I have mine now set at around 55%, so they are not so strong but still just visible in brighter sectors.Virtualaughing wrote: ↑Sat, 8.
