[BUG][7.50] Red exclamation next to settings and online features

Bug:

After launching the game, there is a red exclamation mark next to settings and when I click on it, there is one next to online features but this is disabled due to mods


Detail (2025-03-05):

I believe this is the issue... I have a mod that attempts to call an online verification check but because online features are disabled due to mods, the function call is blocked. This results in a red exclamation but without any explanation for the user to understand why it's there. I only discovered it because of my debug log:

Since having mods disables the online features, it seems that the exclamation shouldn't be there. It's not technically an error.

After updating from 7.10 HF3 to 7.50, the problem listed above appeared. I play modded so the online features option has always been disabled. But for some reason it now has a red exclamation next to it. Because the exclamation also appears next to settings on the main screen, it's a bit frustrating because I can't assume it's not a broken mod (corrupt dependency that didn't load) and have to check everytime I launch the game.

Since the option is disabled I can't interact with it so I removed all my mods to "unlock" it. I made sure that it was set to never check for updates, no user/password is entered and the expeditions module is not installed. None of these settings were different from my 7.10 HF3 configuration, but after restoring my mods the exclamation returned.

That would be why it's not enabled.

By the way, I can't find a way to reactivate the Expeditions extension at the moment.
It seems that the extension is necessary to be able to use the Yasur at all.
It is no longer available in the steam beta branch.

Or have I overlooked something?

This occurred after a complete reinstallation of Windows, which meant that steam and X4 had to be reinstalled.

Fortunately I keep data backups, so I had to manually paste it from the backup folder into the extensions folder.

It is available but you don't enable it through Steam Workshop. Do it in-game. Note that it is currently only there for the purposes of accessing the Online Inventory and the ships and paint mods in it.

Yes, I explained that in my OP. But this doesn't address *why* there is now a red ! on the "online features" when there wasn't one in 7.10 HF3 and when there is no actual error in the "online features" section.

You've not provided any information that might help us identify the problem in your case. Please read the very first thread at the top of the forum and provide the information requested there.
