Very little scrap in Heretics End?

I've started a new game with the intention of using Heretics End as a base for scrap processing and then using Avarice for the recycler. Part of this was multiple places mentioning the sector as having high scrap regen rate and 50k scrap.

However when I've full explored and fully probed the sector it only has 5500 scrap. Has the sector been changed in the latest update or is this normal?



Is this enough scrap to run 4+ processors from or will it just run out instantly?

Heretic's End has never been a scrap heavy sector AFAIK. In my current save I only have 12k. In my older noob save (6.20), I went tall with a HQ mega factory and built scrap processors nearby and I remember having trouble getting enough scrap to put into the processor because I placed them to find out what they did before knowing what they required. That was only 1 processor.

5.5k scrap is practically nothing, and I wouldn't recommend setting up your main scrap processing centre there. Not sure who your enemies are, but there are better places (Family Nhuut, Getsu Fune, Ore Belt, Circle of Deceit etc.) Ore Belt is probably a good idea since it's a similar distance to Avarice as Heretic's End is and is absolutely stacked with Raw scrap. You'll never run out there, so there's no need to worry about regen rates.

Do it in Silent Witness XII if you want to rely on scrap fields.

The scrap in HE regenerates fast enough to run ~2 processors with 3 manticores each for me in my current save. So not a lot, but enough to get you started if you want to make it your home sector.

If you're basing your recycling in Avarice anyway my advice would be Windfall IV though since it's close by and the RIP Teuta's break up the scrap for you so you don't have to buy any of your own.
Can support 10+ processors in my save so it's a pretty decent spot.
