So... While waiting for the 7.50 to become available on GOG for my OS, I am going through my notes from previous play-through, and ended up remapping some of the controls in a dedicated profile for use with my split keyboard (column-staggered 36-key atrocity) - mainly for testing purposes. One of the things I wanted to change in particular was WASD -> ESDF - since this is basically the most natural position for fingers with this particular type of keyboards.
This worked out fine for the general (flight) and walking controls, but then I started to look into menu navigation (holomap controls in particular). And... At least with 7.10 HF3 (maybe it got fixed/changed in 7.50, beats me) under GNU/Linux, I am not able to clear/reset the holomap keyboard controls. It is not even possible to assign additional _keyboard_ controls for those inputs (mouse/joystick buttons can be assigned).
There is a couple of other input controls in there that seem to be hard-coded in similar manner, like menu controls, and some of the dialog controls.
So, is this still the case with 7.50? Is it intentional? I can understand why disabling clearing some of the menu controls would be a thing (so you can still get back into the controls menu to reset things), but I am not sure why the holomap and dialog controls are hard-wired in this way. Nor why it is not possible to assign _additional_ _keyboard_ shortcuts to the hard-coded input controls.
Best regards,
Branko

Re: Unable to clear/remap some of the menu navigation keyboard controls
Well, for what's it worth - I was able to do some of this remapping by modifying the custom profile XML file directly, and the game did not complain. So that's a workaround at least I guess
