Updating the entire thread as I've tested it more
most of the video overlays crash in order.
Running Vanilla, not mods
Recorded the video, both in scan mode and not in scan mode
Uploaded the recording here.

It only happens when in an asteroid fields, specifically one with a gas component as well??
Note, it keeps crashing even if the game is paused and in the menu etc, where nothing else is changing.

Interesting...I think i fixed it.
The volumentric fog setting . I set it to off, and nothing seems to be crashing, flew around in the asteroid field for abit scanning and popping asteroids, couldn't trigger the results from the recording.

Re: Hyperion bug - scan mode
Please see the very first thread at the top of the forum and provide the information requested there, in particular your DXDiag/vulkaninfo, whether or not your game is modified, and if it's not modified then a link to a savegame corresponding to what's in your video. We can't diagnose problems from just screenshots and videos.

CBJ, updated the original post.
I didn't do a saved game, because it happens to every new clean game, so not saved game related. Seems to be purely video related, or at least how the fog/dust???? stuff works.

The DXDiag link seems to be wrong. That's not a DXDiag file!
Incidentally, what you're showing in that video isn't crashing, it's the game running out of video memory. The fact that turning off volumetric fog stops it happening might well confirm that. If we could see the DXDiag then we might be able to see more useful information.

original link updated.
The JSON file was what was created by the web-based dxdiag. Confusing since that is what windows launched.
From command line i got the right program to create the txt file this time.

From your DXDIag I'd say your graphics card is probably struggling a bit with the game, which would explain why turning down some settings might help. Incidentally, you also have sound drivers that are very out of date (10 years old in one case!).

The sound drivers... I think are actually from the monitors themselves. which have NEVER been used or enabled, so not much i can do about those being listed.
But yes, this isn't a dedicated gaming machine, I'm running 4 monitors, but the game only plays on 1 of them. In most cases, I actually don't want or care about the advanced graphics either, since most of it just hurts my eyes anyway. For now though, I've been playing fine since i disabled the cloud stuff.
Thank you for your time.

Are the unused sound devices disabled via Device Manager?WesternGunman wrote: ↑Wed, 12. Mar 25, 18:29 The sound drivers... I think are actually from the monitors themselves. which have NEVER been used or enabled, so not much i can do about those being listed.
