Broken with update 2-20-25

After getting the latest update today I can no longer access messages, global orders etc as when I select the menu options to access those options the game goes to the cockpit view. I have tried all of the new game options to start a new game and it happens on all of the play through I have tried at some point shortly after starting a new game. Some times it happens immediately while other times shortly after the start of the game. I have done a reset of all options in the setting menu and it still has this problem

Possibly the input settings are corrupt or important functionality is mapped incorrectly. If you have any gamepads, joysticks or peddles plugged in, try unplugging those in case they are sending unexpected input. You could also try renaming the settings files in the documents folder so that X4 uses default settings for user input.

Linking a video showing the issue might also help diagnose the cause.

Going to cockpit view may be a fail safe view in case the current window crashes/errors internally. I recall a bug (long since fixed) causing something similar to happen in map view where the window would freeze for several seconds and then appear to close.

If you have any third party mods installed, make sure to unsubscribe them from steam, delete their local data and then try starting a new playthrough. Broken mods can easily cause this kind of issue.
