In addition to this, the inventory tab has a dedicated button for dropping all items deemed illegal in the current sector.
Both of these features make it possible for player to both easily understand what items can cause issues with the local police if the ship gets scanned, as well as to easily get rid of such items.
However, player has tendency to move through various (faction) sectors where legality of inventory items will vary. Thus, even if player has picked up an item that is legal in the current sector, it does not mean the item will be legal in the sector that the player is headed to.
To plan for this, player can access information about each individual inventory item via encyclopedia, where it is possible to see what factions deem the item to be illegal. This is, however, a rather cumbersome way to keep track of such illegal items - player has to open up personal inventory, check what items are carried, and then check for each and every item carried whether it is deemed illegal by sector owners. To drop such items ahead of time, the player has to do so one item type at a time.
In order to make things a bit simpler for player to keep track of and manage such items, it would be useful if:
- All _potentially_ illegal items would get higlighted in a distinct colour in addition to locally-illegal items. This would allow player to quickly assert if some of the items need to be dumped if traversing sectors policed by other factions.
- A tooltip would be shown to player when hovering over all illegal/ potentially illegal items that would list both the factions that consider the said item to be illegal, and those that consider it to be legal. By showing both, player can also get a quick idea on which factions might be trading in said items.
- Inventory tab from personal information menu would have a dedicated button for dropping all _potentially_ illegal items (in addition to current one which covers only items illegal in current sector).
- Faction entries in encyclopedia would directly contain information about illegal items (and probably wares as well, while at it). This would provide more convenient way for player to access such information.
