Unable to progress - Can't reach certain station

Hi,

I know that this probably is something very easy, but I am a bit lost trying to accomplish it as I am very new to the game.

I finished the tutorials and started in open world (via "The Wayward Scion"). Now I am in a point where I need to scan certain pirate stations for certain faction, after talk to Dal Busta.

I have also received a message from someone telling me what station I need to scan. The problem is that I am trying to reach the sector where the station is located (Silent Witness II) without success (I am in Silent Witness I). Whenever I try to select the station and "plot a course" to it (sorry, I forgot the name of the feature) this does not works. That orange indicator which points the direcion does not appeaars.

I know that perhaps there's something I am missing (jumpgates,superhighways?), but I can't find any of those while in Silent Witness I which would take me to Silent Witness II. Well, what am I doing wrong here?

If you haven't explored the way to the sector a target is in you have to find the jumpgate / accelerator first.

The easiest way is to ask a NPC if you find one. If a mission with a unknown destination is active there is an additional dialogue option available in the "more" branch - it's "Can you show me the way to sector XY" (or something along that line - playing the german version of X). By choosing that dialogue option you'll get a new active mission towards the "missing" sector connection.
