- You will need to install the gtk-murrine-engine package to get the GoG installer's theme to show up correctly. (sudo dnf install gtk-murrine-engine).
- You'll need to mark the installer scripts you download executable before you can run them. You can do this in the properties of the files using the file manager.
- The installer doesn't seem to create the . desktop entry correctly. You can just make your own, point it at start.sh, and set it to its working directory. There's an icon you can use for it in the support directory next to the start script.
- Don't run start.sh in the terminal, for some reason that will cause the game's fullscreen mode not to work! Execute it from the file manager or from a .desktop file.

I recently purchased a Framework Laptop 16 with the Radeon 7700S GPU module. If you're wondering if a Linux install on this laptop will run X4, I can report the GoG version works great out-of-the-box in Fedora 41 KDE, though I have a few notes to make your experience a little smoother:
