Tweaking HUD/UI visibility/aesthetics through accessibility options

Post by azaghal »

Hello all,

I am curious in what way people have been using the accessibility options to tweak what their HUD and UI look like. For example, to make the HUD elements stand out better, improve contrasts etc.

What I have found particularly useful when scanning stations is to change the holomap_component_undiscovered to something more vibrant, like green_very_bright_glow. Initially I tried going for colour that matches more closely the one used for the HUD mode indicator (purple-ish), but turns out this was a poor choice when you are scanning the Paranid stations. :)

One thing I was pondering (after watching some of the Elite Dangerous videos) was changing most of the HUD to be orange instead of blue (so it would stand out more against the black/blue backgrounds which are fairly common in the game).

So, anyone got some kind of interesting colour profiles (maybe with screenshots) they would like to share?

Best regards,
Branko

P.S.
I kinda wish these settings were applied by the game without restarts - it would have made it way easier to test out different settings and what the feature IDs specifically refer to.
